Abstract
In fact the study is about the application of solar panels which applicated for public street lighting and illumination of the garden (Solar Tree). This research was conducted on Geology institution in Bandung is located at Jalan Dipenogoro 57, Bandung 40122. The depletion of fossil energy sources make the availability of many parties began to switch to using renewable energy, including solar panels, surely, with all the disadvantages and advantages of applying solar panel devices. The purpose of this research is to find out if the power required is already fulfilled the power emitted by the solar panels? What are the functions and workings of the solar tree? application of solar panels is in terms of the economy is eficien?. Research methods used in this research is a case study of the techniques of data collection using observation, interviews, Literature Studies and documentation. From the results of this study revealed that the power needed to light already being met by solar panels, all the functions and workings of the solar tree barely resembles the public street lighting but with a design in such a way that it looks beautiful in terms of aesthetics, researchers drew the conclusion that the devices installed solar panels in the geological Agency is in compliance with the needs of electricity consumption for Public street lighting and Solar Tree, and researchers also recommend several things to progress public street lighting solar panels and Solar Tree, one of which is to add a battery at public street lighting and reduced some units of solar panels on the Solar Tree. Pada hakikatnya penelitian ini adalah tentang penerapan panel surya yang diaplikasikan untuk penerangan jalan umum dan penerangan taman (Solar Tree). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Badan Geologi Bandung yang terletak di Jalan Dipenogoro 57, Bandung 40122. Semakin menipisnya ketersediaan sumber energi fosil membuat banyak pihak mulai beralih menggunakan energi terbarukan, salah satunya panel surya, tentunya dengan segala kekurangan dan kelebihan menerapkan perangkat panel surya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui apakah daya yang diperlukan sudah terpenuhi daya yang dikeluarkan Panel Surya? Apa fungsi dan cara kerja solar tree? Efisienkah penerapan panel surya ini dari segi ekonomi?. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan Observasi, Wawancara, Studi Literatur dan Dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa daya yang dibutuhkan untuk penerangan sudah terpenuhi semua oleh panel surya, fungsi dan cara kerja solar tree hampir menyerupai PJU tetapi dengan desain sedemikian rupa sehingga terlihat indah dari segi estetika, peneliti menarik kesimpulan bahwa perangkat-perangkat panel surya yang sudah terpasang di Badan Geologi sudah sesuai dengan kebutuhan konsumsi listrik untuk Penerangan Jalan Umum dan Solar Tree, dan Peneliti juga merekomendasi beberapa hal untuk kemajuan PJU panel surya dan Solar Tree, salah satunya adalah dengan menambahkan baterai pada PJU dan mengurangi beberapa unit panel surya pada Solar Tree.
