Abstract
Kata Kunci: Penyalahgunaan Obat, Perilaku, Remaja, Role Play Introduction: Drug abuse among adolescents is a serious problem that affects physical, mental and social health. Role play-based health education is one of the interactive and participatory intervention methods, which can increase preventive behavior. Objective: Determine the effectiveness of role play-based health education on adolescent drug abuse prevention behavior. Research Methods: The study used a quasi experimental design with a pre-test post-test with control group approach. The sample consisted of 88 adolescents aged 10-19 years selected by purposive sampling, divided into intervention and control groups of 44 people each. The intervention was conducted 4 times a meeting for 4 weeks and each session was 60 minutes. The instrument used a questionnaire of alert behavior against drugs with a Likert scale. Data analysis using mann-whitney test and difference between pre-test and post-test. Results and Discussion: The intervention group showed an increase in behavior score from 49.52 to 80.11 (difference 30.58; N-Gain 64.01%; p < 0.005), while the control group from 46.30 to 49.81 (difference 3.50; N-Gain 22.83%; p < 0.015). Mann-whitney test showed a significant difference between the groups at p < 0.05. All intervention group participants moved from the “poor” to “good” category, while the control group remained in the “poor” category. Role play-based education is proven to improve drug abuse prevention behavior. The role play method allows adolescents to understand real situations related to drug abuse through the roles they play. In addition, active participation in role play scenarios promotes increased empathy and decisionmaking skills that support preventive behavior. Conclusion: Role play-based education is effective in improving adolescent drug abuse prevention behavior and is recommended as an educational strategy in schools and communities.
