Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “ Perbandingan Kiprah Mohammad Natsir dan Prawoto Mangkusasmito dalam Partai Masyumi (Tahun 1945-1960)”. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan peran Mohammad Natsir dan Prawoto Mangkusasmito dalam partai Masyumi dari tahun 1945 sampai dengan tahun 1960. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode historis dengan menggunakan empat langkah penelitian sejarah yaitu heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji dan membandingkan kontribusi, gaya kepemimpinan, serta respons kedua tokoh terhadap dinamika politik yang dihadapi Partai Masyumi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun keduanya sama-sama berkomitmen terhadap nilai-nilai Islam dalam politik, terdapat perbedaan mendasar dalam strategi perjuangan, pendekatan komunikasi politik, dan peran mereka dalam menjaga eksistensi Masyumi di tengah tekanan pemerintah. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya wacana tentang peran individu dalam dinamika partai politik Islam Indonesia pasca kemerdekaan. Kata Kunci: Partai Masyumi, Politik Islam, Mohammad Natsir, Prawoto Mangkusasmito The tilte of the research paper is “Perbandingan Kiprah Mohammad Natsir dan Prawoto Mangkusasmito dalam Partai Masyumi (Tahun 1945-1960)”. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the comparison of the roles of Mohammad Natsir and Prawoto Mangkusasmito in the Masjumi party.The method of the research is historical method by four steps of historical research, there are the heuristics, the source critics, the interpretation and the historiography. The main objective of this study is to examine and compare the contributions, leadership styles, and responses of the two figures to the political dynamics faced by the Masyumi Party. The results of the study indicate that although both are committed to Islamic values in politics, there are fundamental differences in their struggle strategies, political communication approaches, and their roles in maintaining Masyumi's existence amidst government pressure. These findings are expected to enrich the discourse on the role of individuals in the dynamics of Indonesian Islamic political parties after independence.
