    Abstract

    Latar belakang. Status gizi anak sekolah dasar masih menjadi permasalahan di Indonesia, baik dalam bentuk gizi kurang maupun gizi berlebih. Data Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2018 menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi anak dengan status gizi kurang dan obesitas masih tinggi. Salah satu faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap permasalahan ini adalah kurangnya pengetahuan anak mengenai gizi seimbang. Oleh karena itu, upaya peningkatan pengetahuan gizi dapat dilakukan melalui pendidikan kesehatan dengan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan efektif. Tujuan penelitian. Untuk mengetahui perbandingan efektivitas penggunaan media game edukatif dan booklet mengenai gizi seimbang. Metode. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain two-group pretest-posttest menggunakan pendekatan pre-experimental design. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 68 siswa kelas 5 dan 6 di SDN Sukaraja 2 Sumedang yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, dengan perhitungan menggunakan rumus Slovin pada tingkat kesalahan 10%. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner tertutup yang telah tervalidasi dan reliabel (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,967) untuk menilai pengetahuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah intervensi menggunakan media game edukatif dan media booklet. Hasil. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik media game edukatif maupun media booklet efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa, namun media booklet lebih efektif. Uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara skor pre-test dan post-test pada kedua kelompok (p < 0,001), sedangkan uji Mann-Whitney U menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok media game edukatif dan booklet (p = 0,002). Kesimpulan. Media booklet dinilai lebih efektif karena menyajikan informasi secara terstruktur dan mendukung pembelajaran mandiri, sementara media game memberikan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif. Background. The nutritional status of elementary school children remains a problem in Indonesia, both in terms of malnutrition and overnutrition. Data from the 2018 Basic Health Research shows that the prevalence of children with malnutrition and obesity remains high. One factor contributing to this problem is children's lack of knowledge about balanced nutrition. Therefore, efforts to improve nutritional knowledge can be carried out through health education using engaging and effective learning materials. Research Objective. To determine the comparison of the effectiveness of using educational games and booklets on balanced nutrition. Method. This study is a quantitative study with a two-group pretest-posttest design using a pre-experimental design approach. The study sample consisted of 68 fifth and sixth grade students at SDN Sukaraja 2 Sumedang, selected using cluster random sampling, with calculations using the Slovin formula at a 10% error rate. The instrument used was a validated and reliable closed-ended questionnaire (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.967) to assess students’ knowledge before and after the intervention using educational games and booklets. Results. The results showed that both educational games and booklets were effective in improving students' knowledge, but booklets were more effective. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores in both groups (p < 0.001), while the Mann-Whitney U test showed a significant difference between the educational game and booklet groups (p = 0.002). Conclusion. Booklets were deemed more effective because they present information in a structured manner and support independent learning, while games provide an interactive learning experience.
