Abstract

Museum sebagai objek wisata edukasi dan warisan budaya berperan penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi masyarakat. Kini, museum tidak hanya menjalankan fungsi tradisional seperti pengumpulan, penelitian, dan pameran koleksi, tetapi juga berkembang menjadi ruang edukatif dan rekreatif yang menyuguhkan pengalaman bermakna bagi pengunjung. Perkembangan museum di Indonesia sendiri belum menunjukkan kemajuan yang signifikan. Lebih dari itu, masih minim penelitian yang mengkaji Persepsi pengunjung terhadap aspek-aspek penunjang, seperti sistem pengelolaan koleksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Persepsi pengunjung terhadap sistem pengelolaan koleksi di Museum Geologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner. Sampel penelitian ini ditentukan berdasarkan pengambilan sampel bertujuan dengan jumlah 112 orang pengunjung Museum Geologi pada rentang 2024 hingga Maret 2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum sistem pengelolaan koleksi di Museum Geologi mendapatkan penilaian yang baik. Temuan ini juga diperkuat dengan Persepsi pengunjung mengenai tata letak dan organisasi informasi di Museum Geologi menunjukkan hasil yang baik. Selain itu, efektivitas sistem pengelolaan koleksi di Museum Geologi dalam memberikan pemahaman yang jelas kepada pengunjung menunjukkan hasil yang sangat baik. Selanjutnya, perpektif pengunjung terhadap sosio-kultural di Museum Geologi menunjukan hasil yang baik. Terakhir, aspek fisik dan lingkungan ruang pamer di Museum Geologi mendapatkan perspektf yang sangat baik dari para pegunjung. Museums, as educational and cultural heritage tourism sites, play a vital role in meeting the public’s information needs. Today, museums go beyond their traditional functions of collection, research, and exhibition to serve as educational and recreational spaces that offer meaningful experiences to visitors. Museum development in Indonesia has yet to show significant progress. Moreover, there is still limited research that examines visitor perceptions on supporting aspects such as collection management systems. This study aims to explore visitor perceptions on the collection management system at the Geological Museum. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, using questionnaires as the data collection technique. The sample consisted of 112 visitors to the Geological Museum, selected through purposive sampling between 2024 and March 2025. The findings indicate that the museum’s collection management system received a generally favorable assessment. This result is reinforced by visitors’ positive perceptions on the layout and organization of information within the museum. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the collection management system in providing visitors with a clear understanding of geological information was rated very positively. Visitors also expressed favorable views on the socio-cultural aspects presented in the museum, including opportunities for social interaction and cultural identification. Lastly, the museum’s physical environment and exhibition space were perceived very positively in supporting access to and understanding of the information displayed.
