Abstract

Faktor psikologis seperti fear of negative evaluation, self efficacy, dan mental toughness sangat memengaruhi performa atlet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan fear of negative evaluation dan self efficacy terhadap mental toughness. Metode penelitian menggunakan uji korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian diperoleh dari 32 atlet PORDA bola tangan Kabupaten Bogor, yang terdiri dari 16 atlet putra dan 16 atlet putri. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan brief fear negative evaluation scale (BFNE-S), general self efficacy scale (GSES-12), dan sport mental toughness questionnaire (SMTQ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara fear of negative evaluation dengan mental toughness (r = -0,628; p<0,05) hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat fear of negative evaluation, maka semakin rendah tingkat mental toughness, Sementara itu, terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self efficacy dengan mental toughness (r = 0,690; p<0,05), hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat self efficacy, maka semakin tinggi tingkat mental toughness. Psychological factors such as fear of negative evaluation, self efficacy, and mental toughness greatly affect athlete performance. This study aims to find out the relationship between fear of negative evaluation and self-efficacy on mental toughness. The research method uses a correlation test with a descriptive quantitative approach. The data in the study was obtained from 32 PORDA athletes in Bogor Regency handball, consisting of 16 male athletes and 16 female athletes. The data collection technique used the brief fear negative evaluation scale (BFNE-S), general self efficacy scale (GSES-12), and sports mental toughness questionnaire (SMTQ). The results of the study showed that there was a significant negative relationship between fear of negative evaluation and mental toughness (r = -0.628; p<0.05) This shows that the higher the level of fear of negative evaluation, the lower the level of mental toughness, Meanwhile, there is a significant positive relationship between self efficacy and mental toughness (r = 0.690; p<0.05), this shows that the higher the level of self efficacy, the higher the level of mental toughness.
