    Abstract

    Indonesia merupakan negara yang kaya akan sumber daya alam salah satunya adalah pegunungan, hal tersebut menawarkan banyak peluang bagi para pendaki untuk melakukan kegiatan mendaki gunung. Aktivitas yang memacu adrenalin serta memberikan pengalaman bagi para pendaki gunung juga membutuhkan perlengkapan yang dapat menunjang pendakian, khususnya tas. Tas pendakian merupakan elemen krusial dalam pendakian. Dalam proses pendakian, pendaki memerlukan dua jenis tas, yaitu carrier untuk membawa perlengkapan utama dan tas dengan kapasitas kecil untuk aktivitas summit attack. Namun, membawa dua tas terpisah menimbulkan tantangan seperti pemindahan barang dan tambahan beban. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang convertible carrier yang dapat diubah menjadi tas dengan kapasitas kecil untuk digunakan ketika summit atau summit pack. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode perancangan design thinking yaitu human centered design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yaitu pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui survei kepada pendaki gunung. Hasil uji coba pada produk convertible carrier yang dilakukan dengan mendaki gunung secara langsung dengan user yaitu pendaki gunung menunjukkan bahwa produk convertible carrier yang dirancang mampu menunjang kebutuhan pendaki saat melakukan pendakian dari awal pendakian hingga summit. Dengan demikian, produk convertible carrier yang telah dirancang memberikan kemudahan bagi pendaki yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pendaki gunung. Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources, one of which is its mountainous regions. These areas offer many opportunities for hikers to engage in mountain climbing activities. This adrenaline-pumping activity not only provides memorable experiences but also requires proper equipment to support the climb especially backpacks. A hiking backpack is a crucial element in a mountain expedition. During the hiking process, climbers typically need two types of bags: a carrier to hold the main gear and a smaller bag for summit attacks. However, carrying two separate bags can present challenges, such as transferring items and additional weight. Therefore, this study aims to design a convertible carrier that can be transformed into a small-capacity bag for summit use, or a summit pack. The research adopts the design thinking method, specifically human-centered design, with a quantitative approach through data collection via surveys distributed to mountain climbers. Product testing of the convertible carrier was conducted by directly using it on a mountain climbing trip with actual users. The results show that the designed convertible carrier effectively supports the needs of climbers throughout the entire journey, from the start of the hike to the summit. Thus, the convertible carrier product provides convenience that aligns with the practical needs of mountain climbers.
