    Abstract

Background: Pneumonia is very dangerous if it occurs at a vulnerable age such as toddlers. Nationally, the percentage of toddler’s pneumonia cases in West Java was above the average Indonesian percentage of 2.8% in 2018. The Indonesian Ministry of Health has issued PCV immunization in 2022 as a form of protection against pneumonia in toddlers. In 2023, Cimalaka sub-district ranked first in pneumonia cases among children under the age of 1-5 years with the most cases occurring in Licin Village. Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between PCV immunization's completeness and pneumonia incidence in toddlers at Licin Village, Cimalaka District, Sumedang. Methods: This study was an observational analytic study with cross-sectional method. The population of this study was secondary data of toddlers aged 1-5 years obtained from the Cimalaka Health Center. The sampling technique used total sampling technique, totaling 475 respondent data. The research instrument used an observation sheet to collect data on the completeness of PCV immunization and toddlers with pneumonia. Data analysis in this study used Spearman's Correlations statistical test. Results: Of the total respondents, 181 toddlers with complete PCV immunization, 55 toddlers were incomplete, and 239 toddlers had never received PCV immunization. The number of toddlers with pneumonia was 32 toddlers. Based on the Spearman correlation test, there was no association between the completeness of PCV immunization and the incidence of pneumonia among toddlers in Licin Village (p=0.063). Conclusion: There is no association between the completeness of PCV immunization and the incidence of pneumonia among toddlers in Licin Village, Sumedang Regency.
