Abstract

Studi potensi pembentukan air asam tambang (AAT) pada lapisan tanah penutup (overburden) yang berasal dari Kalimantan telah dilakukan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sampel overburden yang memiliki potensi membentuk air asam tambang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode uji kinetik yang bersumber dari AMIRA Internasional, Australia. Berdasarkan hasil uji kinetik NAG, pH NAG, free draining leach column dan kinetik flooding test sampel overburden yang mempunyai potensi membentuk air asam (PAF) tambang adalah sampel 07, sedangkan sampel yang memiliki potensi pembentukan asam rendah (PAF-LC) adalah sampel 06. Hasil analisis XRF memperlihatkan bahwa konsentrasi logam Fe, Mn, dan Cd mengalami penurunan yang relatif lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan logam Ca dan K setelah dan sebelum pengujian kinetik kolom leach dan flooding test. Analisis XRD menunjukan mineral sulfida sampel overburden adalah berupa Kalsium mangan sulfat hidroksi hidrat [Ca3Mn4+ (SO4) 2(OH) 6H2O]. Kata kunci: Kinetik NAG, overburden, pH NAG, free draining leach test, PAF dan flooding test. Study the potential formation of acid mine drainage (AMD) in overburden from Borneo (Kalimantan) has been studied. The purpose of this study was to determine the overburden samples that have the potential to from acid mine drainage. The method used in this study is a kinetic test methods derived from AMIRA International, Australia. Based on the test results of kinetic NAG, NAG pH, free draining column leach tests and kinetic flooding overburden samples that have the potential to from acid water (PAF) mine is 07 sample, whereas samples that have a low potential for acid generation (PAF-LC) is 06 sample. The results of XRF analysis showed that thea concentrations of metal Fe, Mn, and Cd decreased relatively more than the metal Ca and K after and before testing kinetic column leach and flooding test. XRD analysis showed sample of sulfide mineral overburden is such as Calcium manganese sulphate hydroxide hydrate [Ca3Mn4+(SO4)2(OH)6(H2O)].
