    Abstract

The State Fisheries Management Area of the Republic of Indonesia is divided into 11 regions, one of which is WPPNRI 712 or the Java Sea. One of the utilization in these waters is the capture fisheries zone. This research aims to analyze the optimal values of chlorophyll-a concentration, sea surface temperature, and depth for the peak of small pelagic fishing in the Java Sea. Some of the processes carried out in this study are collecting images, cropping images, extracting chlorophyll-a and SST data, interpolating using the Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) method, and overlaying intersects. The potential catch of small pelagic fish is highest in March and April, this occurs because the chlorophyll-a concentration in the First Transitional Season is lower than the West Season, which is 0.79 mg/m³ and sea water temperature is 30.09˚C which tends to be stable and supports plankton growth. In March and April, the chlorophyll-a concentration was 0.8 mg/m³ and sst was 30˚C. Small pelagic fish in the Java Sea are found at a depth of 0-200 meters.
