    Abstract

    Indonesia merupakan salah satu produsen bambu terbesar di dunia, dengan potensi yang besar untuk dimanfaatkan dalam pengembangan produk. Untuk menghasilkan inovasi dan nilai tambah, diperlukan eksplorasi teknik pemrosesan material bambu secara lebih mendalam, hal ini dapat menciptakan potensi material yang dapat bisa diekspos. Pengrajin bambu dan Studio desain memiliki peranan penting dalam menciptakan kebaruan dan keberlanjutan ekosistem bambu tentunya secara pengolahan material perlu adanya peningkatan mutu dan daya saing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perlakuan material bambu yang mendukung penerapan teknik coiling pada studio berbasis desain. Metode yang digunakan mencakup analisis SWOT berdasarkan kebutuhan studio serta studi eksperimen. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, eksperimen dan studi literatur. Eksplorasi material bambu dilakukan dengan eksperimen pengawetan dan eksperimen pewarnaan pada bambu serta penerapan hasil eksperimen pada coiling bambu dengan perlakuan tertentu hingga menghasilkan sampel dan modul. Hasil eksplorasi material dilakukan uji perbandingan dan analisa. Hasil dari penelitian ini memunculkan rekomendasi produk yang dapat dikembangkan berdasarkan potensi eksplorasi material berbasis Studiobase. Kebaruan yang ditawarkan menghasilkan efek visual secara alami dari proses perlakuan pada pewarnaan coiling bambu. Eksplorasi ini dapat memberikan arah dan pengembangan pengolahan bambu sesuai dengan kapasitas Studiobase. Indonesia is one of the largest bamboo producers in the world, with great potential to be utilized in product development. To produce innovation and added value, a deeper exploration of bamboo material processing techniques is needed, this can create material potential that can be exposed. Bamboo craftsmen and design studios have an important role in creating new and sustainable bamboo ecosystems, of course, in terms of material processing, there needs to be an increase in quality and competitiveness. This study aims to explore the treatment of bamboo materials that support the application of coiling techniques in design-based studios. The methods used include SWOT analysis based on studio needs and experimental studies. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, experiments and literature studies. Bamboo material exploration was carried out by preservative experiments and coloring experiments on bamboo and the application of experimental results to bamboo coiling with certain treatments to produce samples and modules. The results of the material exploration were tested for comparison and analysis. The results of this study gave rise to product recommendations that can be developed based on the potential for studio-based material exploration. The novelty offered produces a natural visual effect from the treatment process for coloring bamboo coiling. This exploration can provide direction and development of bamboo processing according to the capacity of the Studiobase.
