Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan model pembelajaran inkuiri laboratorium, memperoleh informasi mengenai pengembangan kreativitas mahasiswa, dan tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan metode inkuiri laboratorium melalui tema minuman kemasan. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara tes keterampilan berpikir kreatif, observasi sikap, tindakan dan angket; data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa desain metode inkuiri laboratorium berbeda dengan langkah-langah metode paktikum biasa yaitu dalam hal merumuskan masalah dan pembuatan desain praktikum yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa itu sendiri. Dari implementasi desain pembelajaran konsep yang dapat dikembangkan yaitu larutan elektrolit non elektrolit, asam basa, sifat koligatif larutan, sel volta, elektrolisis, koloid, polimer, zat aditif, vitamin, dan mikrobiologi serta sebelas desain praktikum. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat pengembangan kreativitas mahasiswa kelas eksperimen dilihat dari aspek keterampilan berpikir kreatif tertinggi terdapat pada indikator kemampuan orisinil dengan perolehan N-gain sebesar 42,13% dengan kategori sedang. Dilihat dari aspek sikap kreatif kelas eksperimen tertinggi terdapat pada indikator merasa tertantang oleh kemajemukan dengan N-gain sebesar 59,25% dengan kategori sedang, dari aspek tindakan kreatif kelas eksperimen tertinggi terdapat pada aspek kinerja tahap pelaksanaan praktikum dengan rata-rata N-gain sebesar 52,88% dengan kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil angket diperoleh tanggapan positif mahasiswa terhadap pelaksanaan praktikum, kemampuan memahami konsep kimia melalui tema minuman kemasan dan tangapan terhadap metode pembelajaran. This study aims to find a laboratory inquiry learning model, obtain a description of students’ creativity development, and obtain a description of students’ responses toward using laboratory inquiry method with the theme of packaged beverage. The method in this study is quasi-experimental research design using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The data is collected using creative thinking skill test, observation of attitude and action, as well as questionnaire. Quantitative data is analyzed using statistics. The result shows that the design of laboratory inquiry method is different from those of common practicum method, i.e. in formulating the problems and creating practicum design by students themselves. From the implementation of learning design, the concepts that can be developed are electrolyte non electrolyte solution, acid-base, colligative properties of solution, voltaic cells, electrolysis, colloids, pollymer, additives, vitamins, and microbiology, as well as eleven practicum designs. The results showed that the experimental class students experience the creative development from the aspects of creative thinking skills with the highest score is on the ability to think originally with N-gain of 42.13% in the moderate category. From the aspect of creative attitude, experimental class scores highest on the indicator of feeling challenged by a plurality by the N-gain of 59.25% in the moderate category. From the aspect of the creative act, the experimental class is highest on the performance aspects of lab implementation stage with average N-gain of 52.88% in the moderate category. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the students' responses to lab implementation, the ability to understand chemistry concepts through packaged beverage theme and their responses to learning method are positive.
