Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman peserta didik terhadap konsep dalam matematika, khususnya pada materi pecahan. Penyebabnya adalah kurangnya variasi pendekatan pembelajaran dan penggunaan media pembelajaran di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education berbantuan media BOCAH (Box Pecahan) terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 43 peserta didik kelas IV SDN 2 Segeran Kidul dan 40 peserta didik kelas IV SDN 2 Segeran, yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes, berupa sepuluh soal uraian. Data yang diperoleh dilakukan analisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari pendekatan pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education berbantuan media BOCAH (Box Pecahan) dan pendekatan konvensional terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik. Terdapat perbedaan pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education berbantuan media BOCAH (Box Pecahan) dan pendekatan konvensional, pendekatan pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education berbantuan media BOCAH (Box Pecahan) berpengaruh lebih tinggi 14,88% dibandingkan dengan pendekatan konvensional. The background of this research is the low understanding of students of concepts in mathematics, especially in fractional materials. The reason is the lack of variety in learning approaches and the use of learning media in the classroom. This study aims to determine the influence of the Realistic Mathematics Education learning approach assisted by BOCAH media (Box Fractions) on students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample amounted to 43 students in grade IV of SDN 2 Segeran Kidul and 40 students of grade IV of SDN 2 Segeran, who were selected by purposive sampling. The instrument used was a test instrument, in the form of ten description questions. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the study show that there is an influence of the Realistic Mathematics Education learning approach assisted by BOCAH media (Box Fractionan) and the conventional approach to the understanding of students' mathematical concepts. There is a difference in the influence of the Realistic Mathematics Education learning approach assisted by BOCAH media (Box Fractionan) and the conventional approach, the Realistic Mathematics Education learning approach assisted by BOCAH media (Box Fractionan) has a higher effect of 14.88% compared to the conventional approach.
