    Abstract

    Pertumbuhan penduduk yang pesat dan keterbatasan lahan yang sesuai untuk permukiman menyebabkan tekanan terhadap ketersediaan lahan, terutama di wilayah perkotaan dan sekitarnya. Pembangunan permukiman yang tidak mempertimbangkan daya dukung lahan dapat mengakibatkan degradasi lingkungan dan menurunnya kualitas hunian. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan analisis daya dukung lahan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana suatu wilayah mampu menopang aktivitas permukiman secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Daya Dukung Lahan Permukiman di Kecamatan Dayeuhkolot dengan menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) melalui metode overlay pada satuan kemampuan lahan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan lahan di Kecamatan Dayeuhkolot diklasifikasikan ke dalam kelas B, C, dan D, yang secara teoritis masih memungkinkan untuk permukiman. Namun, berdasarkan perhitungan daya dukung lahan, diperoleh nilai sebesar -0.00208, yang menunjukkan bahwa wilayah ini telah melampaui kapasitas daya tampungnya untuk kegiatan permukiman. Meskipun demikian, berdasarkan analisis kondisi eksisting, masih terdapat lahan potensial seluas 177,28 hektar yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pengembangan permukiman dengan perencanaan yang lebih terarah. Rapid population growth and limited land suitable for settlements are putting pressure on land availability, especially in urban areas and beyond. Settlement development that does not consider the carrying capacity of the land can result in environmental degradation and decreased housing quality. Therefore, a land carrying capacity analysis is needed to determine the extent to which an area is able to sustain settlement activities in a sustainable manner. This research aims to analyze the Land Carrying Capacity of Settlements in Dayeuhkolot Sub-district using Geographic Information System (GIS) through the overlay method on land capability units. The results of the analysis show that the land capability in Dayeuhkolot Sub-district is classified into classes B, C, and D, which theoretically still allows for settlements. However, based on the calculation of land carrying capacity, a value of -0.00208 was obtained, which indicates that this area has exceeded its capacity for settlement activities. Nonetheless, based on the analysis of existing conditions, there is still 177.28 hectares of potential land that can be utilized for settlement development with more targeted planning
