    Abstract

    Kurangnya media pembelajaran interaktif dalam proses pembelajaran dapat menghambat partisipasi siswa, pemahaman konsep, serta pemecahan masalah, khususnya pada materi rangkaian listrik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran simulasi PhET terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional menggunakan gambar statis. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi-experimental dengan desain nonequivalent control group, melibatkan 56 siswa kelas V SD dengan masing-masing kelompok kelas melibatkan 28 siswa. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari tes pilihan ganda berbasis indikator berpikir kritis Robert Ennis dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan simulasi PhET memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, sebagaimana dibuktikan oleh rata-rata posttest yang lebih tinggi pada kelas eksperimen dibanding kelas kontrol serta uji effect size yang menunjukkan efek sedang. Selain itu, terdapat pila perbedaan pada kedua kelompok kelas berdasarkan hasil uji-t, uji N-Gain, dan analisis lembar observasi. Siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih aktif dalam diskusi kelompok dan mampu menganalisis serta menjelaskan konsep rangkaian listrik secara lebih kritis. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran simulasi PhET efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran rangkaian listrik di sekolah dasar. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran simulasi PhET dapat menjadi solusi inovatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran sains di sekolah dasar. The lack of interactive learning media in the learning process can hinder student participation, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving, especially in the topic of electrical circuits. This study aims to analyze the effect of using PhET simulation learning media on students' critical thinking skills compared to conventional learning using static images. The method used is quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design, involving 56 fifth-grade elementary school students, with each class group consisting of 28 students. The research instruments include multiple-choice tests based on Robert Ennis’ critical thinking indicators and observation sheets. The results show that the use of PhET simulations has a significant effect on improving students' critical thinking skills, as evidenced by the higher posttest average in the experimental class compared to the control class, as well as an effect size test indicating a moderate effect. In addition, there are differences between the two class groups based on t-test results, N-Gain tests, and observation sheet analysis. Students in the experimental class were more active in group discussions and were able to analyze and explain the concept of electrical circuits more critically. The conclusion of this study is that PhET simulation learning media is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in learning about electrical circuits in elementary school. Thus, PhET simulation learning media can be an innovative solution to enhance the quality of science education in elementary schools.
