Abstract
Kurangnya inovasi guru dalam menyajikan pembelajaran matematika menjadi latar belakang dari penelitian eksperimen ini. Untuk itu diperlukan adanya inovasi pembelajaran yang dapat mengatasi permasalahan tersebut salah satunya menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran probing prompting terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas V SD. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen nonequivalent control group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V se-Kecamatan Sukajadi dengan jumlah keseluruhan sebanyak 22 sekolah dasar. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling sehingga yang menjadi sampel penelitian ini yaitu SDN 071 Sukagalih. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah instrumen tes. Instrumen tes yang digunakan berupa soal pretest & posttest yang diuji validitas dan reliabilitas terlebih dahulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran probing prompting. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil uji beda rata-rata yang didapatkan melalui tes kemampuan penalaran matematis dan hasil posttest lebih besar daripada hasil pretest pada kelas yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran probing prompting. Terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan antara kelas yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran probing prompting dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan hasil ini metode pembelajaran probing prompting dapat direkomendasikan dalam pembelajaran guna mempengaruhi kemampuan penalaran matematis khususnya pada pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar.

The lack of innovation among teachers in delivering mathematics instruction serves as the background for this experimental study. Therefore, innovative teaching methods are needed to address this issue, one of which is the use of innovative learning methods. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the probing prompting learning method on the mathematical reasoning ability of fifth-grade elementary school students. This study employs a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study consists of fifth-grade students from all 22 elementary schools in the Sukajadi district. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with SDN 071 Sukagalih selected as the research sample. The research instrument used is a test instrument, consisting of pretest and posttest questions that have been validated and tested for reliability. The results of the study indicate a significant effect of the probing prompting learning method on mathematical reasoning ability. This is evidenced by the results of the mean difference test, which shows that the posttest scores are higher than the pretest scores in the class that used the probing prompting learning method. There is a significant difference in the impact between the class that used the probing prompting method and the class that used the conventional method. Therefore, based on these findings, the probing prompting learning method can be recommended for teaching mathematics in elementary schools to enhance students' mathematical reasoning abilities.
