    Abstract

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media games to learn English dengan pendekatan EMRED untuk meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa dikelas 5 SDN Pasirmuncang 1 Tangerang yang masih tergolong rendah. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif yaitu quasi experimental design dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan tes soal pilihan ganda dan kuesioner. Dari hasil penelitian, penggunaan media games to learn English dengan pendekatan EMRED menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kosakata bahasa Inggris pada siswa kelas 5 SDN Pasir Muncang 1 Tangerang. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan melihat kondisi dikelas eksperimen pada hasil uji hipotesis Paired Sample T-Test pada materi pelajaran kosakata pada Unit 5 What a nice skrirt! dan unit 6 Part of our body that work together dengan hasil Asym.sig (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 dan taraf signifikasi 5% yang menyatakan bahwa Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Media pembelajaran games to learn English terbukti layak untuk digunakan dalam meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris dikelas 5 di SDN Pasirmuncang 1 Tangerang yang dilihat dari hasil penilaian ahli media dihitung dengan matriks Gregory dengan perolehan skor sebesar 0,85 maka validitas dinyatakan “sangat tinggi” dengan kategori “Layak”. Sedangkan tindak lanjut menunjukkan rata-rata persentase dari kelima indikator pendekatan EMRED sebesar 90%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media games to learn English dengan pendekatan EMRED berpengaruh dibandingkan dengan metode ceramah dalam meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 5 SDN Pasirmuncang 1 Tangerang. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of media games to learn English with EMRED approach to improve students' English vocabulary in class 5 SDN Pasirmuncang 1 Tangerang which is still relatively low. The approach used is a quantitative approach, namely a quasi experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The data collection technique was using multiple choice question tests and questionnaires. From the results of the study, the use of games to learn English media with the EMRED approach showed an increase in English vocabulary in 5th grade students of SDN Pasirmuncang 1 Tangerang. This can be proven by looking at the conditions in the experimental class on the results of the Paired Sample T-Test hypothesis test on vocabulary subject matter in Unit 5 What a nice skrirt! and unit 6 Part of our body that work together with the results of Asym.sig (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05 and a 5% significance level which states that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Games to learn English learning media is proven to be feasible to use in improving English vocabulary in class 5 at SDN Pasirmuncang 1 Tangerang as seen from the results of the media expert assessment calculated by the Gregory matrix with a score of 0.85, so the validity is declared “very high” with the category “Feasible”. While the follow-up shows the average percentage of the five indicators of the EMRED approach of 90%. So it can be concluded that the use of games to learn English media with the EMRED approach has an effect compared to the lecture method in increasing the English vocabulary of 5th grade students of SDN Pasirmuncang 1 Tangerang.
