    Abstract

The coastal area of Lebak Regency has experienced significant land use intensification, particularly in three eastern sub-districts, marked by the establishment of industrial-specific piers, increased tourism activities, and sand mining activities that have impacted shoreline changes, indicated by the phenomena of abrasion and accretion. This study aims to analyze the rate of shoreline changes from 2008-2024 and predict the shoreline condition in 2034, as well as analyze the adaptation measures taken by the community and local government. The Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) method is used to analyze and predict shoreline changes through statistical calculations of NSM, EPR, LRR, and Kalman filter. Community adaptation measures are obtained through interviews and observations. The study results show that from 2008-2024, the eastern coastal area of Lebak Regency experienced an increase in land area by 106.87 hectares, with an average distance and rate of change reaching 32.41 meters and 2.03 meters/year, with the highest accretion occurring in Bayah Sub-district at 45.33 meters and 2.84 meters/year. The shoreline condition in 2034 is predicted to experience accretion with an average distance and rate of change reaching 17.39 meters and 1.75 meters/year, with the highest accretion occurring in the same sub-district at 23.67 meters and 2.37 meters/year. The adaptation measures taken by the community and government to address the impacts of shoreline changes include the implementation of structural physical adaptation patterns such as planting coastal vegetation, building embankments and gabions, shifting boat mooring areas, and utilizing accreted land for agriculture and sports fields.
