Abstract
Gangguan pendengaran yang dialami anak tunarungu mengakibatkan hambatan dalam berkomunikasi, sehingga berdampak pula pada proses pendidikan dan pembelajarannya. Hal ini disebabkan anak tunarungu menerima informasi secara visual, sehingga informasi yang di dapat akan berbeda dengan anak yang melihat dan mendengar. Permasalahan yang terjadi di lapangan adalah kesulitan yang dialami siswa tunarungu dalam penyelesaian operasi hitung pecahan. Pecahan adalah suatu hal yang abstrak, sehingga siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep itu sendiri. Penelitian ini berkenaan dengan penerapan pendekatan matematika realistik pada pembelajaran matematika materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan berpenyebut sama dan tidak sama pada siswa tunarungu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan efektifitas dari penerapan pendekatan matematika realistik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan operasi hitung pecahan pada siswa tunarungu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen, dengan pendekatan Single Subject Research dan desain A-B-A. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada seorang subjek tunarungu kelas V SDLB. Berdasarkan temuan hasil penelitian, pendekatan matematika realistik memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan operasi hitung pecahan pada subjek YC. Hal ini dibuktikan dari peningkatan mean level pada setiap fase mulai dari fase pertama baseline-,1 kemudian intervensi, dan baseline-2 pada subjek YC. Peneliti merekomendasikan penggunaan pendekatan matematika realistik sebagai salah satu alternatif pendekatan pembelajaran matematika materi operasi hitung pecahan. Kata kunci: tunarungu, kemampuan operasi hitung pecahan, pendekatan matematika realistik Hearing loss experienced by children with hearing impairment resulted in barriers communication, it impact to the education and learning process. This is due by children with hearing impairment received visual information, so the information can be different with children who see and hear. The problem that occur in the field is the difficulty experienced by students with hearing impairment in completion of fractional arithmetic operation. Fractions is an abstract thing, so that students have difficulty in understanding the concept itself. This research regarding the implementation of realistic mathematics approach to mathematics learning material addition and subtraction fractions with same and different denominator to students with hearing impairment. The purpose of this research is to prove the effectiveness of the implementation of realistic mathematics approach to improve the ability of fractional arithmetic operations on students with hearing impairment. This study uses experimental research, and Single Subject Research approach, design of the A-B-A. Based on these findings results at this research, implementation of realistic mathematics approach can improve the ability of fractional to subject with initial YC. This is proved by the increase in the mean levels at each phase is baseline-1, then the intervention, and baseline-2 at YC. Researchers recommended to uses realistic mathematic approach as an alternative approach to mathematics learning materials fractional arithmetic operations.
