Abstract

Penelitian di bidang perpustakaan dan informasi terus berkembang seiring dengan dinamika ilmu pengetahuan dan kebutuhan masyarakat. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi berbagai pandangan ahli serta hasil analisis literatur ilmiah terkait topik dan metode penelitian yang berkembang di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan analisis mendalam terhadap literatur jurnal terakreditasi serta wawancara dengan akademisi dan praktisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa topik penelitian yang berkembang dalam bidang perpustakaan meliputi digitalisasi layanan, literasi informasi, dan peran perpustakaan dalam mendukung pembelajaran masyarakat. Metode penelitian, baik dengan pendekatan kuantitatif maupun kualitatif, digunakan sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang didasarkan pada fenomena yang ada. Pengaruh teknologi terhadap penelitian menjadi lebih mudah, efektif, dan efisien, terutama dengan adanya transformasi digital, media sosial, dan kecerdasan buatan. Para ahli menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi antarpeneliti serta relevansi penelitian dengan kebutuhan masyarakat sebagai langkah strategis untuk mengembangkan keilmuan perpustakaan yang adaptif dan bermakna. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan memiliki peran strategis dalam menyelaraskan teknologi dengan kebutuhan masyarakat, khususnya melalui pendekatan penelitian yang kontekstual dan kolaboratif. Transformasi perpustakaan di era digital tidak hanya memerlukan adopsi teknologi baru, tetapi juga pemahaman yang mendalam terhadap kebutuhan pengguna dan tantangan lokal. Penelitian ini juga menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi antarpeneliti serta penguatan regulasi dalam mendukung perubahan peran perpustakaan di masa depan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar untuk mengidentifikasi potensi pengembangan studi lebih lanjut dalam bidang perpustakaan dan informasi, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan transformasi peran perpustakaan di era digital; Research in the field of library and information science continues to evolve in response to the dynamics of knowledge and societal needs. This study aims to explore various expert perspectives and analyze the literature related to the emerging research topics and methods in Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research involves in-depth analysis of accredited journal literature and interviews with academics and practitioners. The results indicate that the key research topics in the field of library science include service digitalization, information literacy, and the role of libraries in supporting community learning. Research methods, both quantitative and qualitative, are employed according to the needs based on the prevailing phenomena. The influence of technology on research has made it more accessible, effective, and efficient, especially through digital transformation, social media, and Artificial Intelligence. Experts emphasize the importance of collaboration among researchers and the relevance of research to societal needs as a strategic step in developing adaptive and meaningful library science. This study demonstrates that libraries play a strategic role in aligning technology with community needs, particularly through contextual and collaborative research approaches. The transformation of libraries in the digital era requires not only the adoption of new technologies but also a deep understanding of user needs and local challenges. The study also highlights the significance of collaboration among researchers and the strengthening of regulations to support the evolving role of libraries in the future. This research is expected to serve as a foundation for identifying the potential for further development in library and information science studies, particularly those related to the transformation of libraries' roles in the digital era.
