Abstract
Tugas akhir sering kali menjadi tantangan besar bagi mahasiswa, terutama jika mahasiswa mengalami ketidaksiapan dalam menghadapi tugas akhir yang dapat menimbulkan kecemasan. Salah satu komponen yang berperan dalam meningkatkan kesehatan mental yaitu dengan self-compassion. Self-compassion merupakan sikap peduli kepada diri sendiri dalam menghadapi kesulitan atau kegagalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-compassion dengan kecemasan pada mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun tugas akhir. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 181 mahasiswa angkatan 2021 yang sedang menyusun tugas akhir yang terdiri dari 4 program studi di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Kampus Daerah Sumedang dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 125 mahasiswa menggunakan teknik proportional cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan instrumen Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) untuk mengukur self-compassion dan Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) untuk mengukur kecemasan. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan negatif signifikan antara self-compassion dengan kecemasan (r = -0,674, p < 0,001), yang berarti semakin tinggi self-compassion, maka akan semakin rendah kecemasan. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara self-compassion mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan (t= 4,279, p< 0,001), dengan nilai mean 93,174 mahasiswa laki-laki dan 77,174 mahasiswa perempuan. Peningkatan self-compassion dapat membantu mengurangi kecemasan pada mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun tugas akhir. Oleh karena itu, institusi pendidikan disarankan untuk merancang program yang mendukung pengembangan self-compassion dikalangan mahasiswa, agar meningkatkan kesejahteraan mental selama penyusunan tugas akhir. One of the components that plays a role in improving mental health is self-compassion. Self-compassion is an attitude of caring for oneself in the face of difficulties or failures. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and anxiety in students who are preparing their final project. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a correlational design. The research population is 181 students of the class of 2021 who are preparing a final project consisting of 4 study programs at the University of Education Indonesia, Sumedang Regional Campus with a sample of 125 students using the proportional cluster random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out with the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) instrument to measure self-compassion and Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) to measure anxiety. Data analysis was carried out using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed a significant negative relationship between self-compassion and anxiety (r = -0.674, p < 0.001), which means that the higher the self-compassion, the lower the anxiety. In addition, there was a significant difference between the self-compassion of male and female students (t= 4.279, p< 0.001), with a mean value of 93.174 male students and 77.174 female students. Increasing self-compassion can help reduce anxiety in students who are preparing their final project. Therefore, educational institutions are advised to design programs that support the development of self-compassion among students, in order to improve mental well-being during the preparation of the final project.
