Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris di kelas IV sekolah dasar. Dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penguasaan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa Internasional, dan optimalnya pelaksanaan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dapat didukung oleh komponen pembelajaran yang lengkap, salah satunya media pembelajaran. Namun, keterbatasan guru dalam memanfaatkan dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran menjadi hal yang krusial dan perlu untuk dibenahi, karena berdampak terhadap optimalnya penguasaan kompetensi bahasa yang berbeda. Game uno flip card dijadikan sebagai upaya solusi dari permasalahan dan kebutuhan penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE yang melalui lima tahapan, yaitu (1) analysis; (2) design; (3) development; (4) implementation dan (5) evaluation. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli, serta angket resposns guru dan peserta didik untuk mengukur kepraktisan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan tiga komponen pengembangan, diantaranya (1) komponen kemasan; (2) panduan permainan; dan (3) komponen kartu yang memuat sajian materi. Media game uno flip card yang dikembangkan memperoleh kelayakan berdasarkan dari penilaian ahli dengan skor keseluruhan 88.65% interpretasi “Sangat Layak”. Kepraktisan media didapatkan dari hasil respons peserta didik dan guru pada saat implementasi, skor respons peserta didik pada uji coba 1 dan 2 mendapatkan skor rata-rata 91.3%, dan respons guru pada uji coba 1 dan 2 mendapatkan skor rata-rata 94.95%, dengan interpretasi keseluruhan “Sangat Praktis” digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Pengembangan media game uno flip card dapat memberikan kontribusi kepada sekolah, guru dan peserta didik dalam memfasilitasi kompetensi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris terutama pemahaman kosakata sederhana. This study aims to develop learning media for the English subject in fourth-grade elementary school. It is motivated by the importance of mastering English as an international language, and the optimal implementation of English learning can be supported by complete learning components, one of which is learning media. However, the limitations of teachers in utilizing and developing learning media have become a crucial issue that needs to be addressed, as it affects the optimal mastery of different language competencies. The uno flip card game is proposed as a solution to the problems and needs for media use in English language learning in elementary schools. This research development design with the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: (1) analysis; (2) design; (3) development; (4) implementation; and (5) evaluation. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, documentation studies, expert feasibility assessments, and questionnaires for teachers' and students' responses to measure practicality. The study resulted in the development of three components: (1) packaging component; (2) game instructions; and (3) card components containing material presentation. The developed uno flip card game media received a feasibility score of 88.65% from expert assessments, interpreted as "Highly Feasible." The practicality of the media was obtained from the responses of students and teachers during implementation, with students' response scores in trials 1 and 2 averaging 91.3%, and teachers' response scores in trials 1 and 2 averaging 94.95%, with an overall interpretation of "Highly Practical" for use in English language learning. The development of the uno flip card game media can contribute to schools, teachers, and students in facilitating the mastery of English learning competencies, especially in understanding simple vocabulary.
