Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya minat siswa kelas IV dalam pembelajaran angklung di sekolah dasar. Hal itu dikarenakan kurangnya sarana dan prasarana, tidak ada pelatih atau guru, kurangnya penguasaan metode bermain angklung, siswa kesulitan membaca partitur dan memainkan angklung secara bersamaan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti memberikan dua metode bermain angklung yaitu metode hand sign dan sight reading untuk membantu siswa dalam pembelajaran angklung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membandingkan metode hand sign dan sight reading terhadap minat siswa dalam pembelajaran angklung. Penelitian ini merupakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan studi komparatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan angket/kuesioner yang berisi 20 pernyataan dan diberikan kepada 44 sampel. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney karena terdapat data yang tidak berdistribusi normal. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat pengkategorian minat yaitu rendah, sedang, dan tinggi. Adapun hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa minat siswa dalam pembelajaran angklung dengan metode hand sign dikategorikan rendah sebanyak 4 siswa, dikategorikan sedang sebanyak 9 siswa, dikategorikan tinggi sebanyak 9 siswa dan nilai rata-ratanya 91,86. Sedangkan minat siswa dalam pembelajaran angklung dengan metode sight reading dikategorikan rendah sebanyak 3 siswa, dikategorikan sedang sebanyak 8 siswa, dikategorikan tinggi sebanyak 11 siswa, dan nilai rata-ratanya 82,68. Melalui data tersebut dapat terlihat perbedaan atau perbandingan minat siswa dalam pembelajaran angklung dengan metode hand sign dan sight reading di sekolah dasar. This research was motivated by the lack of interest of fourth grade students in learning angklung in elementary school. This is due to a lack of facilities and infrastructure, no coaches or teachers, lack of mastery of the method of playing angklung, students have difficulty reading sheet music and playing angklung simultaneously. Therefore, researchers provide two methods of playing angklung, namely the hand sign and sight reading methods to help students in learning angklung. The aim of this research is to compare hand sign and sight reading methods on student interest in learning angklung. This research is a quantitative approach using comparative studies. The data collection technique in this research was using a questionnaire containing 20 statements and given to 44 samples. Data analysis in this study used the Mann-Whitney test because there was data that was not normally distributed. In this research there are categorizations of interest, namely low, medium and high. The results of data analysis show that students' interest in learning angklung using the hand sign method is categorized as low by 4 students, categorized as medium by 9 students, categorized as high by 9 students and the average score is 91.86. Meanwhile, students' interest in learning angklung using the sight reading method was categorized as low by 3 students, categorized as medium by 8 students, categorized as high by 11 students, and the average score was 82.68. Through this data, we can see differences or comparisons in students' interest in learning angklung using the hand sign and sight reading methods in elementary schools.
