Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh minimnya guru dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran khususnya pembelajaran matematika materi sifat-sifat bangun ruang. Menyebabkan peserta didik sulit memahami materi, kegiatan pembelajaran membosankan, kurang tertarik mengikuti pembelajaran dan berdampak pada kemampuan pemahaman. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka dibutuhkan solusi salah satunya menggunakan media papan ular tangga. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan media papan ular tangga terhadap kemampuan pemahaman peserta didik kelas V pada materi sifat-sifat bangun ruang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis metode quasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini yaitu Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu peserta didik kelas V di SDN Cigugur berjumlah 20 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 20 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian ini yaitu tes kemampuan pemahaman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan hasil pre-test kedua kelas tidak jauh berbeda yaitu kelas eksperimen 46,35 sedangkan kelas kontrol 53,45. Adapun perbedaan post-test kedua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen 78,35 sedangkan kelas kontrol 63,25. Perbedaan kedua kelas tersebut berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,01 yang artinya terdapat perbedaan rata-rata antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil Uji N-Gain menunjukan bahwa media papan ular tangga cukup efektif terhadap kemampuan pemahaman peserta didik pada materi sifat-sifat bangun ruang dengan nilai N-Gain 0,60 termasuk kategori cukup efektif. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media papan ular tangga efektif terhadap kemampuan pemahaman peserta didik pada materi sifat-sifat bangun ruang. The research was motivated by the lack of teachers in using learning media, especially learning mathematics regarding the properties of space. Causing students to have difficulty understanding the material, learning activities are boring, they are less interested in participating in learning and have an impact on understanding abilities. To overcome this problem, a solution is needed, one of which is using snake and ladder board media. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of using the snake and ladder board media on the understanding ability of class V students on the properties of spatial shapes. The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The design of this research is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample used was 20 class V students at SDN Cigugur as the experimental class and 20 people as the control class. The instrument of this research is a comprehension ability test. Based on the research results, it shows that the pre-test results for the two classes are not much different, namely the experimental class 46.35 while the control class 53.45. The difference in the post-test between the two classes is that the experimental class was 78.35 while the control class was 63.25. The differences between the two classes are based on the results of hypothesis testing, the sig value. (2-tailed) is 0.01, which means there is an average difference between the experimental class and the control class. The results of the N-Gain Test show that the snake and ladder board media is quite effective in students' understanding abilities in the material on the properties of space with an N-Gain value of 0.60, which is in the quite effective category. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of snake and ladder board media is effective in students' ability to understand the material on the properties of space.
