Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kepercayaan diri siswa yang ditemui di kelas khususnya pada aspek percaya diri akan kemampuan diri sendiri, saling bertukar ide/gagasan, menyampaikan pendapat dan pertanyaan, dan presentasi di depan kelas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan upaya meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan konsep desain spiral dari Kemmis Mc Taggart yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis data deskriptif terhadap data berupa catatan lapangan dan lembar observasi serta perhitungan dara hasil penilaian sikap. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VII-C SMPN 26 Kota Bandung sebanyak 5 siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tupe Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa pada pembelajaran IPS. Pertumbuhan kepercayaan diri siswa pada siklus terakhir dinilai hampir semua penilaian instrument dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran sudah mengalami peningkatan semakin baik, sehingga mampu mencapai target ketuntasan yang peneliti harapkan. Dengan demikian, melihat hasil yang didapatkan dari setiap siklus dapat dikatakan bahwa upaya penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas VII-C SMPN 26 Kota Bandung. Implikasi penelitian ini yaitu keterampilan sosial dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berinteraksi dan berkomunikasi dengan baik. Kata Kunci: Kepercayaan Diri, Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif, Pembelajaran IPS, ¬Think Pair Share The background of this research is the low self-confidence observed in students, particularly in aspects such as self-belief, exchanging ideas, expressing opinions and questions, and presenting in front of the class. The purpose of this research is to describe efforts to increase students' self-confidence through the Think-Pair-Share cooperative learning model in social studies education. This research uses a classroom action research method with a spiral design concept by Kemmis and McTaggart, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation sheets, field notes, and interviews. The data analysis technique used is descriptive data analysis of field notes and observation sheets, as well as calculating data from attitude assessment results. This research was conducted in class VII-C of SMPN 26 Bandung City over 5 cycles. The results show that the application of the Think-Pair-Share cooperative learning model can improve students' self-confidence in social studies education. The growth of students' self-confidence in the final cycle was assessed, showing that almost all instrument assessments in the learning process had improved significantly, thus achieving the targeted mastery level expected by the researcher. Therefore, based on the results obtained from each cycle, it can be concluded that the application of the Think-Pair-Share cooperative learning model can increase students' self-confidence in social studies education in class VII-C of SMPN 26 Bandung City. The implication of this research is that social skills can enhance the ability to interact and communicate effectively.
