Abstract

Anak tunarungu adalah anak yang mengalami kekurangan atau kehilangan kemampuan mendengar yang disebabkan oleh kerusakan atau tidak berfungsinya sebagian atau seluruh alat pendengarannya, sehingga ia mengalami hambatan dalam menerima informasi secara langsung yang berakibat pula pada perkembangan kemampuan membacanya. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik tunarungu Kelas II di SLBN A Citeureup sebanyak 1 orang. Subjek termasuk ke dalam Kelompok I dalam Klasifikasi ketunarunguan dengan kehilangan 15-30 dB, mild hearing losses atau ketunarunguan ringan; daya tangkap terhadap suara cakapan manusia normal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh penerapan Metode Fonik berbasis Flashcard terhadap peningkatan kemampuan mengenal huruf bagi anak tunarungu. Metode yang digunakan adalah jenis penilitian single subjek research (SSR) yaitu penelitian subjek tunggal dengan desain A-B-A. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Metode Fonik berbasis Fashcard berpengaruh terhadap peningkatkan kemampuan mengenal huruf bagi anak dengan hambatan pendengaram, hal ini ditandai dengan adanya peningkatan kemampuan yang cukup signifikan setelah subjek diberikan intervensi, pada fase terakhir yaitu fase Baseline 2 di sesi pertama subjek mengalami peningkatan dengan mendapatkan skor 46 dari 58 atau 79,3% yang artinya skor subjek meningkat sebesar 10,4% dari sesi terakhir pada fase intervensi. Kemudian pada sesi 2 dan 3 subjek mendapatkan skor 49 dari 58 dengan presentase sebesar 89,5%. Pada fase ini subjek sudah mampu melafalkan huruf-huruf yang ada pada butir-butir instrumen. Deaf children are those who experience a deficiency or loss of hearing ability caused by damage to or malfunction of some or all parts of their hearing apparatus, resulting in difficulties receiving information directly, which also affects their reading development. The subject of this study is a deaf student in Grade II at SLBN A Citeureup, with a total of 1 participant. The subject falls into Group I in the classification of hearing impairment, with a loss of 15-30 dB, classified as mild hearing loss; the ability to perceive normal human speech. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the application of the Phonics Method based on flashcards on improving letter recognition abilities in deaf children. The method used is a type of single subject research (SSR) with an A-B-A design. The results showed that the application of the Phonics Method assisted by flashcards had an effect on improving letter recognition abilities in children with hearing impairment. This is indicated by a significant improvement in abilities after the subject was given intervention, in the final phase, which is Baseline Phase 2, in the first session, the subject showed improvement by scoring 46 out of 58 or 79.3%, which means the subject's score increased by 10.4% from the last session in the intervention phase. Then, in sessions 2 and 3, the subject scored 49 out of 58 with a percentage of 89.5%. In this phase, the subject was able to pronounce the letters presented in the instrument items.
