Abstract

Matematika yang bersifat abstrak membuat siswa kesulitan mempelajarinya, sehingga mereka membutuhkan alat bantu. Media boneka jari yang dikombinasikan dengan jarimatika dinilai mampu meningkatkan kemampuan operasi hitung perkalian. Berdasarkan temuan di lapangan, terdapat siswa tunarungu yang memiliki kesulitan dalam melakukan operasi hitung perkalian bilangan 11-20. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media boneka jari terhadap peningkatan kemampuan operasi hitung perkalian siswa tunarungu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest posttest dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes tertulis terhadap 7 siswa kelas VIII di SLB Negeri Cicendo Kota Bandung. Temuan penelitian dihitung menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa media boneka jari berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan operasi hitung perkalian pada siswa tungarungu dan dapat dijadikan sebagai media alternatif dalam proses pembelajaran perkalian. The abstract nature of mathematics makes it difficult for students to learn, so they need tools. Finger puppet media combined with jarimatika is considered to be able to improve the ability of multiplication counting operation. Based on the findings in the field, there are deaf students who have difficulty in performing multiplication operations of numbers 11-20. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of finger puppet media on improving the multiplication calculation ability of deaf students. This research uses an experimental method with a one group pretest posttest design and data collection techniques in the form of written tests on 7 students in class VIII at SLB Negeri Cicendo Bandung City. The research findings calculated using the Wilcoxon Test showed that finger puppet media had an effect on improving the ability of multiplication counting operations in deaf students and could be used as an alternative media in the multiplication learning process.
