Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa SMP dalam membaca aksara Sunda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa membaca aksara Sunda sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model picture and picture. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuasi eksperimen one group pretest-postest design kepada siswa kelas VII-A SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga hal. Pertama, kemampuan siswa dalam membaca aksara Sunda sebelum menggunakan model picture and picture masuk dalam kategori kurang sekali. Kedua, kemampuan siswa dalam membaca aksara Sunda sesudah menggunakan model picture and picture masuk dalam kategori bagus. Ketiga, adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model picture and picture dalam pembelajaran aksara Sunda. Berdasarkan hasil data uji hipotesis, terdapat perbedaan yang siginifikan pada kemampuan membaca aksara Sunda siswa kelas VII-A SMP Negeri 29 Bandung taun ajar 2023/2024 sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model picture and picture. This research was motivated by the lack of ability of junior high school students in reading Sundanese script. The aim of this research is to describe students' ability to read Sundanese script before and after using the picture and picture model. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental one group pretest-posttest design method for class VII-A students at SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. The results of this research consist of three things. First, students' ability to read Sundanese script before using the picture and picture model is in the very poor category. Second, students' ability to read Sundanese script after using the picture and picture model is in the good category. Third, there is a significant difference between abilities before and after using the picture and picture model in learning Sundanese script. Based on the results of hypothesis testing data, there is a significant difference in the ability to read Sundanese script for class VII-A students at SMP Negeri 29 Bandung for the 2023/2024 academic year before and after using the picture and picture model. Ieu panalungtikan ngahasilkeun tilu perkara. Kahiji, kamampuh siswa maca aksara Sunda saméméh ngagunakeun modél picture and picture asup kana katégori kurang pisan. Kadua, kamampuh siswa maca aksara Sunda sanggeus ngagunakeun modél picture and picture asup kana katégori hadé. Katilu, ayana béda anu signifikan antara kamampuh saméméh jeung sanggeus ngagunakeun modél picture and picture dina pangajaran maca aksara Sunda. Dumasar kana hasil data uji hipotésis dina ieu panalungtikan nya éta aya béda anu signifikan kana kamampuh maca aksara Sunda siswa kelas VII-A SMP Negeri 29 Bandung taun ajar 2023/2024 saméméh jeung sanggeus ngagunakeun modél picture and picture.
