Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan untuk mendukung guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, serta untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran. Hal ini menimbulkan rendahnya minat dan motivasi pada diri siswa yang kemudian berdampak pada kemampuan kognitif siswa khususnya pelajaran IPA kelas IV, sehingga perlu hadirnya solusi atas permasalahan tersebut. Penggunaan media interaktif wordwall dapat diakses secara mudah dimana telah disediakan berbagai pilihan template yang dapat digunakan dengan berbantuan game based learning dalam pelaksanaannya. Sehingga diharapkan bisa meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi wujud benda. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model game based learning, mengetahui kemampuan kognitif siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan pada materi wujud benda dan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan wordwaall berbantuan game based learning terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan quasi experiment. Responden pada penelitian ini yaitu 23 siswa kelas esperimen dan 31 siswa kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan penggunaan wordwall berbantuan game based learning cukup efektif untuk dilakukan, kelas eksperimen dan kontrol mendapat peningkatan nilai antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan, dan penggunaan game based learning memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas IV sebesar 0,68 termasuk kategori sedang dan cukup efektif untuk digunakan. Implikasi pada penelitian yaitu siswa mengetahui bahwa benda-benda yang ada disekitar kita memiliki wujud zat yang berbeda, dan siswa mempunyai pengalaman baru terkait dengan cara penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis website. This research is motivated by the need to support teachers in developing more effective learning media in teaching and learning activities, as well as to improve teacher competence in utilizing technology in the learning process. This causes low interest and motivation in students which then has an impact on students' cognitive abilities, especially in grade IV science lessons, so there is a need for a solution to this problem. The use of interactive wordwall media can be accessed easily where various template options have been provided that can be used with the help of game based learning in its implementation. So it is hoped that it can improve students' cognitive abilities in material forms. The purpose of this research is to determine the implementation of learning using the game based learning model, determine students' cognitive abilities before and after being treated with tangible material and determine the effect of using wordwaall assisted by game based learning on students' cognitive abilities. This research uses a quantitative method with a quasi experiment. The respondents in this study were 23 experimental class students and 31 control class students. The results of the research show that the implementation of learning using wordwall assisted by game based learning is quite effective, the experimental and control classes get an increase in scores between before and after being given treatment, and the use of game based learning has an influence on the cognitive abilities of class IV students by 0.68 including medium category and quite effective to use. The implication of the research is that students know that the objects around us have different forms of substance, and students have new experiences related to how to use website-based learning media.
