Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena beberapa masalah yang dihadapi siswa dalam menguasai keterampilan proses sains.Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil observasi yang menunjukkan bahwa siswa kurangmampu melakukan pengamatandenganbaik,siswakurang mampu menuliskan danmenyimpulkanhasilpengamtan, siswa kurang mampu untukmengklasifikasikan, dansiswakurangmampudalammengkomunikasikanhasileksperimen. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan penelitian tindakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa dengan menerapkan pendekatan Somatic-Auditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI). Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA tentang materi gaya melalui penerapan pendekatan Somatic-Aditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI) dan (2) Mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA materi gaya dengan penerapan pendekatan Somatic-Aditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI).Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang diadaptasi dari model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart.Penelitianinidilakukandalamduasiklus.Setiap siklusterdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu, penguasaan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada siklus I sebesar 65 %. Dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 87 %. Dari data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan keterampilan proses sains siswa meningkat setelah dilakukan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan pendekatan Somatic-Aditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI). Hal ini dapat terlihat dari hasil tes keterampilan proses sains yang mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan Somatic-Aditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI)padapembelajaran IPA materi Gaya dapatmeningkatkanketerampilan proses sainssiswa. This research is motivated because of some problems faced by students in mastering the science process skills. It is based on observations indicate that students are less able to make good observations, students are less able to write and concluded observation result, students are less able to classify, and students are less able to communicate the results of the experiment. To answer these problems, conducted action research to improve students' science process skills by applying Somatic-Auditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI) approach. Goals to be achieved in this study are: (1) describe the implementation of science learning about the force through the application of Somatic-Aditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI) approach and (2) to describe the increase in students' science process skills in science learning about the force with the application of the approach somatic-Aditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI). This research is a class act, adapted from Kemmis and Mc models. Taggart. This research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results obtained, namely, mastery of science process skills of students in the first cycle by 65%. And the second cycle increased to 87%. From these data indicate that students' mastery of science process skills increased after learning by applying Somatic-Aditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI) approach. It can be seen from the results of a test of science process skills increased in each cycle. Then, it can be concluded that the application of Somatic-Aditory-Visualization-Intellectually (SAVI) approach in science learning about the force can improve students' science process skills.
