Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi ketertarikan peneliti terhadap musik komputer, musik EDM, dan teknologi kecerdasan buatan, oleh karena itu peneliti melakukan penelitian terhadap Ravez, seorang produser musik EDM dan DJ yang kerap menggunakan teknologi kecerdasan buatan dalam kreasi musiknya. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui cara pemanfaatan teknologi kecerdasan buatan dalam kreasi musik EDM oleh Ravez. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode studi kasus deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa Ravez menggunakan sepuluh perangkat lunak bertenaga AI dalam kreasi musiknya, yaitu Bandlab Splitter, Ultimate Vocal Remover 5, Algonaut Atlas 2, Synplant 2, smart:EQ 4, soothe2, Gullfoss, Drum Monkey, Midi Wizard, dan Bass Dragon, dengan tujuan untuk efisiensi waktu dan/atau memicu ide musikal dalam kreasi musiknya. Setiap perangkat lunak tersebut memiliki fungsi dan kegunaan yang spesifik, baik itu pada tahap landasan artistik, proses kurasi sampel audio, ataupun tahapan kreasi dan untuk dapat memanfaatkan teknologi tersebut secara maksimal, dibutuhkan riset dan eksperimen terhadap masing-masing perangkat lunak tersebut.
This research is motivated by the researcher's interest in computer music, electronic dance music, and artificial intelligence technology. Therefore, the researcher conducted a study on Ravez, an EDM music producer and DJ who frequently uses artificial intelligence technology in his music creation. The main objective of this study is to understand how artificial intelligence technology is utilized in the creation of EDM music by Ravez. The research method used is a descriptive case study with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques employed include interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings of this study reveal that Ravez uses ten AI-powered software tools in his music creation: Bandlab Splitter, Ultimate Vocal Remover 5, Algonaut Atlas 2, Synplant 2, smart:EQ 4, soothe2, Gullfoss, Drum Monkey, Midi Wizard, and Bass Dragon, with the aim of time efficiency and/or triggering musical ideas in his music creation. Each software tool has specific functions and uses, whether in the artistic foundation stage, audio sample curation process, or the creation stages, and to fully utilize these technologies, research and experimentation with each software tool are required.
