Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan dan hasil peningkatan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS materi perkembangan teknologi transportasi. Penelitian tersebut dilaksanakan di SDN Ciburial Kecamatan Lembang Kabupaten Bandung Barat terhadap siswa kelas IV B. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, ditemukan fakta bahwa tingkat keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS masih tergolong rendah. Hal tersebut dikarenakan model pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru tidak bervariatif dengan hanya menggunakan metode ceramah. Dalam penelitian ini diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw. Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw tersebut dilandasi dengan pandangan konstruktivisme, berpusat pada siswa (student centered), dengan memungkinkan siswa dapat mengembangkan kemampuan dan daya pemecahan masalah menurut kehendaknya sendiri serta mendorong siswa untuk berpikir kritis, aktif dan kreatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui teknik non tes dengan mengamati dan mengukur tingkat keaktifan siswa serta melalui observasi partisipatif dan dokumentasi. Hasil tes keaktifan siswa diolah secara kuantitatif, sedangkan observasi dan dokumentasi diolah secara deskriptif kualitatif kemudian disimpulkan. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut, diperoleh temuan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa pada materi perkembangan teknologi transportasi. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan, terjadi peningkatan keaktifan siswa dari tindakan prasiklus ke siklus I sebesar 31,74%. Pada prasiklus persentase tingkat keaktifan siswa sebesar 26,92% dan pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 58,66%. Sementara dari siklus I ke siklus II juga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 19,74%, dari persentase 58,66% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 78,40% pada siklus II. Selain itu, kegiatan pembelajaran menjadi berpusat kepada siswa (student centered) dimana siswa terlibat secara aktif dalam setiap kegiatan pembelajaran This research was conducted with the aim to describe the implementation and results of an increase in activity of students in social studies learning material development of transportation technology. The study was conducted in SDN Ciburial District Lembang Bandung Regency West to fourth graders B students. Based on this observation, it was found that the level of involvement of the student in the learning of social studies is still relatively low. That is because the learning model employed by the teacher is not varied by only using the lecture method. In this study applied a jigsaw cooperative learning model. Jigsaw cooperative learning model is based on the view of constructivism, student centered, to enable students to develop problem-solving abilities and power according to his own will, and encourages students to think critically, active and creative. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The collection of data obtained through the non-test technique by observing and measuring the activity level of students and through participant observation and documentation. Student activity test results analyzed quantitatively, while the observation and documentation is processed by qualitative descriptive then concluded. From the results of these studies had findings that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model can increase the activity of students in the material development of transportation technology. Based on the observations made, there is increased activity of students before cycle action to the first cycle of 31.74%. At the before, percentage of student activity levels is about 26.92% and in the first cycle increased to 58.66%. While on cycle I to cycle II also increased about 19.74%, from 58.66% in the percentage of first cycle increased to 78.40% in the second cycle. In addition, the activity became centered on student learning (student centered) where students are actively involved in each learning activity.
