Abstract

Pendidikan abad ke-21 menuntut siswa memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Namun, pada praktiknya di lapangan, masih terdapat tantangan dimana siswa sering kali mengalami kesulitan dalam menghadapi dan menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan secara kolaboratif pada proses pembelajaran. Penggunaan media yang tepat dapat membantu siswa memperoleh pengalaman belajar yang mendalam untuk menyelesaikan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan game edukasi digital Educaplay berbasis problem based learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Seluruh siswa kelas VII di SMPN 31 Bandung yang berjumlah 407 siswa menjadi populasi dalam penelitian ini. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian melibatkan 74 siswa yang terbagi atas kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan game edukasi digital Educaplay berbasis problem based learning dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan PowerPoint. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes objektif pilihan ganda. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menerapkan uji independent sample t-test. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Perbedaan peningkatan pun tampak pada setiap aspek kemampuan pemecahan masalah, yaitu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan masalah, melaksanakan rencana pemecahan masalah, dan memeriksa kembali hasil pemecahan masalah. Dengan demikian, penggunaan game edukasi digital Educaplay berbasis problem based learning efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. 21st-century education requires students to possess problem-solving skills. However, in practice, challenges persist where students often struggle to address and resolve problems collaboratively during the learning process. The use of appropriate media can aid students in gaining a deep learning experience to solve problems. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the Educaplay digital educational game, based on problem-based learning, in enhancing students' problem-solving abilities. The study employs a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study comprises all 407 seventh-grade students at SMPN 31 Bandung. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling techniques. The research sample consists of 74 students, divided into an experimental group using the Educaplay digital educational game based on problem-based learning and a control group using PowerPoint. Data for the study were collected through multiple-choice objective tests. Data analysis was performed using an independent sample t-test. The findings indicate a significant difference in the improvement of students' problem-solving abilities in the experimental group compared to the control group. The difference in improvement is evident in every aspect of problem-solving ability, including understanding the problem, planning the solution, implementing the solution plan, and reviewing the results. Thus, the use of the Educaplay digital educational game based on problem-based learning is effective in enhancing students' problem-solving skills.
