Abstract
Popularitas tayangan konten dark comedy yang meningkat di kalangan penonton menimbulkan kebutuhan untuk memahami dampaknya terhadap sikap keterbukaan individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah tayangan konten dark comedy (X) berpengaruh terhadap sikap keterbukaan khalayak (Y), serta bagaimana tingkat ekstrovertisme memoderasi pengaruh tersebut. Penelitian ini mengacu pada teori Stimulus-Organisme-Response (S-O-R) yang menjadi dasar asumsi bahwa stimulus dari tayangan konten dark comedy akan mempengaruhi organisme (penonton) dan menghasilkan respons berupa sikap keterbukaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan instrumen berupa kuesioner. Sampel diambil menggunakan metode purposive random sampling dengan 384 responden yang mengikuti kanal YouTube Majelis Lucu Indonesia berusia 18-40 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tayangan konten dark comedy memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap sikap keterbukaan khalayak. Tingkat ekstrovertisme juga berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap sikap keterbukaan khalayak. Namun, interaksi antara tayangan konten dark comedy dan tingkat ekstrovertisme menunjukkan efek moderasi negatif, yang berarti bahwa tingkat ekstrovertisme, melemahkan pengaruh hubungan tayangan konten dark comedy terhadap sikap keterbukaan khalayak dalam konteks tertentu. Secara simultan, tayangan dark comedy dan tingkat ekstrovertisme berpengaruh signifikan terhadap sikap keterbukaan dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 65%, sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konten dark comedy dapat menjadi alat yang efektif untuk membuka diskusi tentang isu-isu penting melalui pendekatan humor. The growing popularity of dark comedy content among viewers underscores the necessity to comprehend its influence on individual openness. The objective of this study is to ascertain whether there is a relationship between exposure to dark comedy content and the level of openness exhibited by the audience, and to determine whether the degree of extroversion moderates the influence of this relationship. This research is based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) theory, which posits that the stimulus from the broadcast of dark comedy content will affect the organism (audience) and produce a response in the form of an attitude of openness. This research employs a quantitative methodology, utilizing a survey instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The sample was selected using the purposive random sampling method, with 384 respondents who follow the Indonesian Funny Assembly YouTube channel and are between the ages of 18 and 40. The findings indicate that exposure to dark comedy content exerts a favorable and statistically significant impact on the audience's attitude of openness. Additionally, the level of extroversion has been identified as a significant predictor of the audience's openness attitude. However, the interaction between dark comedy content viewing and the level of extrovertism demonstrates a negative moderation effect, indicating that the level of extrovertism attenuates the relationship between dark comedy content viewing and the openness attitude of the audience in a specific context. Concurrently, both dark comedy shows and the level of extroversion exert a significant influence on the attitude of openness, with a coefficient of determination of 65%. The remaining influence is attributed to unexamined variables. This research demonstrates that dark comedy content can serve as an effective instrument for initiating discourse on pivotal matters through a humorous approach.
