Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan parenting style dengan celebrity worship yang dimediasi oleh self-esteem pada penggemar K-Pop dewasa awal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan sampel penggemar K-Pop dewasa awal berjumlah 349. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Data gaya pola asuh didapatkan melalui alat ukur Parental Authority Questuonnaire (PAQ) oleh Buri (1991) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Hurrun’in (2024) dengan reliabilitas dalam penelitian ini sebesar 0.857 (authoritative), 0.870 (authoritairan), 0.622 (permissive). Selanjutnya, data self-esteem didapatkan melalui alat ukur Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) oleh Rosenberg (1965) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Fadyawati (2024) dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0.751. Terakhir, data celenrity worship didapatkan melalui alat ukur Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS) oleh Maltby dkk. (2006) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Sabatini (2020) dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0.899. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis mediasi dengan menggunakan uji regresi, uji indirect effect, dan uji sobel dengan menggunakan bantuan Jamovi 2.5.5. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa self-esteem memediasi secara penuh dan negatif pada hubungan antara pola asuh authoritative dan permissive dengan celebrity worship. Semakin tinggi pola asuh authoritative dan permissive yang diterapkan orang tua, maka semakin rendah celebrity worship pada anak melalui self-esteem yang tinggi. Sementara itu self-esteem memediasi secara parsial dan positif pada hubungan pola asuh authoritarian dengan celebrity worship. Semakin tinggi pola asuh authoritarian yang diterapkan orang tua, maka semakin tinggi celebrity worship pada anak melalui self-esteem yang rendah. This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting style and celebrity worship which is mediated by self-esteem in early adult K-Pop fans. This research uses a quantitative approach, with a sample of 349 early adult K-Pop fans. The sample was selected using a convenience sampling technique. Parenting style data was obtained through the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) measuring tool by Buri (1991) which has been adapted into Indonesian by Hurrun'in (2024) with reliability in this study of 0.857 (authoritative), 0.870 (authoritairan), and 0.622 (permissive). Furthermore, self-esteem data was obtained using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) measuring instrument by Rosenberg (1965) which has been adapted into Indonesian by Fadyawati (2024) with a reliability of 0.751. Finally, celebrity worship data was obtained using the Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS) measurement tool by Maltby et al. (2006) which has been adapted into Indonesian by Sabatini (2020) with a reliability of 0.899. The data analysis technique used is mediation analysis using regression tests, indirect effect tests, and Sobel tests using Jamovi 2.5.5. The results of this study show that self-esteem fully and negatively mediates the relationship between authoritative and permissive parenting styles and celebrity worship. The higher the authoritative and permissive parenting style applied by parents, the lower the celebrity worship in children through high self-esteem. Meanwhile, self-esteem partially and positively mediates the relationship between authoritarian parenting and celebrity worship. The higher the authoritarian parenting style applied by parents, the higher the celebrity worship in children will be through lower self-esteem.
