Abstract

Penelitian berjudul “EKSISTENSI ALAT MUSIK SASANDO PADA ERA MODERNISASI DI KOTA KUPANG PROVINSI NUSA TENGGARA TIMUR” ini mengkaji tentang bagaimana keberadaan dan aktifitas alat musik Sasando dalam eksistensinya di era modernisasi, yang dimana penelitian ini mengkaji berbagai cara maupun upaya apa saja yang dilakukan masyarakat di Kota Kupang Nusa Tenggara Timur dan pihak-pihak lainya baik dari aspek pendidikan, pemerintah dan juga musisi Sasando yang terlibat dalam melestarikan dan mempertahankan alat musik Sasando hingga saat ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode dekriptif kualitatif dengan analisis data yang digambarkan ialah berupa uraian dekripif yang sesuai dengan jenis data yang bersifat kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu melalui teknik observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hal ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengungkapkan berbagai fakta yang terjadi dilapangan dan juga dapat menjawab permasalahan melalui data yang dikumpulkan dan yang telah dioalah atau dianalisis. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini ialah terdapat berbagai cara dan upaya masyarakat, pelaku budaya, pemerintah, dan dari aspek pendidikan maupun musisi Sasando dalam dalam mepertahakan eksistensi alat musik Sasando di era modernsisi. Dalam penelitian ini mengungkapkan berbagai bentuk cara dan upaya melalui kegiatan maupun pagelaran musik yang mengangkat atau melibatkan alat musik Sasando dari skala lokal, nasional hingga internasional, serta berbagai aktifitas Sasando lainnya yang berlangsung di Kota Kupang Nusa Tenggara Timur. The research entitled "EXISTENCE OF THE SASANDO MUSICAL INSTRUMENT IN THE ERA OF MODERNIZATION IN THE CITY OF KUPANG EAST NUSA TENGGARA PROVINCE" examines the existence and activities of the Sasando musical instrument in its existence in the modernization era, where this research examines the various methods and efforts made by the people in the city. Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara and other parties from the aspect of education, government and also Sasando musicians who are involved in preserving and maintaining Sasando musical instruments to this day. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with data analysis described in the form of a descriptive description that corresponds to the type of qualitative data. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation studies. This aims to be able to reveal various facts that occur in the field and also be able to answer problems through data that has been collected and has been processed or analyzed. The results obtained from this research are that there are various ways and efforts made by the community, cultural actors, government, and from the educational aspect as well as Sasando musicians in maintaining the existence of the Sasando musical instrument in the modern era. This research reveals various forms of methods and efforts through activities and musical performances that use or involve Sasando musical instruments from local, national to international scales, as well as various other Sasando activities that take place in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara.
