Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya keterampilan berpikir kritis dan problem solving bagi siswa sekolah dasar sebagai salah satu keterampilan yang penting dimiliki diabad ke dua puluh satu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran Flipped classroom dalam pembelajaran IPS terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan problem solving siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitaitf dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan tipe nonequivalent control group design. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Sukamulya Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa instrument tes tertulis pilihan ganda untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis dan tes tertulis uraian untuk mengukur keterampilan problem solving serta observasi untuk menganalisis dan menggambarkan pelaksaan flipped classroom . Data diolah melalui uji statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji nonprametrik dan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa flipped classroom terbukti berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan problem solving siswa kelas IV SDN Sukamulya. Hal tersebut terbukti dengan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dan problem solving siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikannya pembelajaran flipped classroom. Flipped classroom direkomendasikan bagi guru sekolah dasar sebagai salah alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan problem solving siswa. This research is motivated by the importance of critical thinking and problem solving skills for elementary school students as one of the important skills to have in the twenty-first century. This study aims to analyze the effect of Flipped Classroom learning in social studies learning on critical thinking and problem solving skills of fourth grade elementary school students. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a type of nonequivalent control group design. The data source of this research is fourth grade students of SDN Sukamulya in the academic year 2023/2024. The instruments used in this study were multiple choice written test instruments to measure critical thinking skills and description written tests to measure problem solving skills as well as observations to analyze and describe the implementation of the Flipped Classroom. The data were processed through descriptive statistical test, normality test, homogeneity test, nonprametric test and N-Gain test. The results showed that Flipped Classroom was proven to have a positive effect on critical thinking and problem solving skills of fourth grade students of SDN Sukamulya. This is proven by the significant difference between critical thinking and problem solving skills of students before and after flipped classroom learning. Flipped classroom is recommended for elementary school teachers as an alternative learning to improve students' critical thinking and problem solving skills.
