Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kesalahan dan kesulitan yang dialami siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal literasi matematis berdasarkan kerangka PISA serta faktor penyebab kesulitan yang dialami siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal literasi matematis. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Cimahi yang melibatkan 33 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes literasi matematis dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan yang dialami siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal terbagi menjadi tiga tahapan berdasarkan indikator literasi matematis yaitu, pertama pada tahap merumuskan masalah siswa mengalami keterbatasan dalam menangkap informasi, kesulitan dalam memahami perintah atau kata kunci, serta kesulitan dalam memahami kosakata teknis pada soal. Kedua pada tahap menerapkan strategi dan rumus yang relevan untuk menyelesaikan soal siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan rumus yang tepat seperti rumus pada materi geometri, kesulitan dalam menggunakan konsep matematis pada materi geometri dan aljabar, serta kesulitan dalam menuliskan rencana penyelesaian. Ketiga pada tahap menafsirkan hasil dan proses secara matematis siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami informasi yang diberikan, kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi informasi melalui gambar dan grafik, serta kesulitan dalam mengartikulasikan proses matematis. Faktor penyebab kesulitan yang dialami siswa terdiri dari pemahaman konsep dasar, kurangnya kemampuan membaca dan menafsirkan soal, keterampilan pemecahan masalah, keterampilan komunikasi matematika, konsentrasi siswa dalam pembelajaran, waktu pengerjaan soal, motivasi dan sikap siswa, serta persepsi siswa terhadap soal literasi matematis. This study aims to examine the errors and difficulties experienced by students in solving mathematical literacy problems based on the PISA framework and the factors that cause difficulties experienced by students in solving mathematical literacy problems. The method used in this research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The subjects of this research were seventh grade students in one of the public junior high schools in Cimahi City involving 33 people. Data collection techniques through mathematical literacy tests and interviews. The results showed that the difficulties experienced by students in solving problems were divided into three stages based on mathematical literacy indicators, namely, first at the stage of formulating problems students experienced limitations in capturing information, difficulty in understanding commands or keywords, and difficulty in understanding technical vocabulary in the problem. Second, at the stage of applying relevant strategies and formulas to solve problems, students have difficulty in determining the right formula such as formulas in geometry material, difficulty in using mathematical concepts in geometry and algebra material, and difficulty in writing a solution plan. Third, at the stage of interpreting results and processes mathematically, students have difficulty in understanding the information provided, difficulty in identifying information through pictures and graphs, and difficulty in articulating mathematical processes. Factors causing difficulties experienced by students consist of understanding basic concepts, lack of ability to read and interpret problems, problem solving skills, mathematical communication skills, student concentration in learning, time to work on problems, student motivation and attitudes, and student perceptions of mathematical literacy problems.
