Abstract
ABSTRAK
Fenomena kelas bahasa asing yang semakin heterogen seiring dengan perkembangan internasionalisasi. Heterogenitas kelas melibatkan peserta didik dengan latar belakang bahasa dan budaya yang beragam. Keberagaman ini menuntut pendekatat pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi kebutuhan linguistik peserta didik yang beragam. Salah satu strategi yang muncul untuk pembelajaran bahasa asing adalah translanguaging, yaitu penggunaan dua atau lebih bahasa secara bergantian dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi pengajar terhadap penggunaan translanguaging dalam pengajaran bahasa Korea, termasuk tantangan yang dihadapi dan efektivitas strategi ini dalam pengajaran bahasa Korea. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data yaitu kuisioner dan wawancara kepada enam pengajar (penutur asli bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Korea) bahasa Korea di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Korea di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengajar sering menggunakan translanguaging dalam pengajaran mereka, pengajar juga memiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang translanguaging dan dapat membuat kelas menjadi efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik. Pengajar merasa nyaman menggunakan translanguaging untuk menjelaskan materi dan mempercepat proses pembelajaran. Namun, tantangan yang dihadapi antara lain kesulitan mencari padanan kata yang tepat dalam bahasa Indonesia dan menjaga keseimbangan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Korea agar tidak mengurangi upaya peserta didik dalam mempelajari bahasa target.
ABSTRACT
The increasing heterogeneity of foreign language classes due to the growth of internationalization. Class heterogeneity involves learners with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, creating a need for learning approaches that accommodate these varied linguistic needs. One emerging strategy in foreign language learning is translanguaging, which involves the interchangeable use of two or more languages in the learning process. This study aims to explore teachers’ perceptions of using translanguaging in Korean language teaching, including the challenges faced and the advantages of this strategy. The study employs a qualitative method, utilizing questionnaires and interviews with six teachers (native speakers of Indonesian and Korean) from the Korean Language Education Study Program at Indonesia Education University. The results indicate that teachers frequently use translanguaging in their teaching and have a strong understanding of the concept, which helps create an effective learning environment that enhances learners’ comprehension. Teachers reported feeling comfortable using translanguaging to explain material and accelerate the learning process. However, challenges include difficulty in finding accurate word equivalents in Indonesian and maintaining a balanced use of both Indonesian and Korean to ensure that learners continue to engage with the target language.

이 연구는 국제화의 진전에 따라 외국어 수업에서 나타나는 다양한 배경의 학습자들로 인한 수업의 이질화 현상을 바탕으로 진행되었다. 이러한 다양성은 다양한 언어적 요구를 충족시키기 위한 학습 접근법이 필요하다. 트랜스랭귀징은 학습 과정에서 두 개 이상의 언어를 교차하여 사용하는 새로운 전략으로, 본 연구는 한국어 교육에서 교사들의 트랜스랭귀징 활용 인식을 탐구하고, 이 전략이 직면한 어려움과 효과를 분석하고자 한다. 인도네시아 교육대학교의 한국어 교사 6명을 대상으로 설문지와 인터뷰를 통한 질적 연구 방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 교사들은 트랜스랭귀징에 대한 높은 이해도를 바탕으로 학습자의 이해를 증진시키기 위해 이 전략을 자주 사용하고 있으며, 수업 진행에 있어 효과적이라는 긍정적인 인식을 가지고 있다. 그러나 인도네시아어와 한국어 간의 어휘 차이로 인한 번역의 어려움과, 학생들이 목표 언어인 한국어에 대한 학습 노력을 유지하기 위한 언어 사용의 균형을 맞추는 데에 도전이 있다는 점도 밝혀졌다.
