Abstract
Transformasi pendidikan terus dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan zaman, terutama dalam menguasai keterampilan abad-21 yang diperlukan untuk bersaing secara global. Pendidikan IPS sebagai mata pelajaran pada jenjang Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Indonesia berperan penting untuk mengembangkan keterampilan abad-21 tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pembelajaran IPS yang mampu memberikan bekal keterampilan abad-21 peserta didik melalui pembelajaran inovatif berbasis mobile games. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model desain ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) melibatkan SMP Negeri 5 Jember sebagai kelas pengembangan dan SMP Negeri 9 Jember dan SMP Negeri 12 Jember sebagai kelas implementasi model pembelajaran, instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi pembelajaran, angket studi pendahuluan, angket persepsi siswa dan angket keterampilan abad-21. Analis data menggunakan uji t dan regresi linier. Temuan penelitian adalah; 1. Karakteristik pembelajar di SMP Negeri Jember terdeteksi sebagai Gen-Z yang gemar memainkan mobile games dan aktif menggunakan gawai; 2. Desain model pembelajaran IPS berbasis mobile games telah diakui kelayakannya pada Forum Group Disscusion (FGD) dan melalui penilaian validator ahli di bidangnya, pada uji coba di kelas pengembangan terjadi kenaikan rerata skor keterampilan abad-21 yang signifikan dibandingkan kelas kontrol dan persepsi siswa mengenai kepuasan terhadap model pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan berada pada kriteria tinggi; 3) Model pembelajaran IPS berbasis mobile games efektif digunakan untuk menumbuhkembangkan keterampilan abad-21 di SMP Negeri Kabupaten Jember. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran IPS berbasis mobile games dirancang sesuai kebutuhan belajar Gen-Z dan telah melewati serangkaian proses penyempurnaan, sehingga layak menjadi acuan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran IPS yang dilaksanakan di sekolah. Educational transformation continues to be carried out to answer the challenges of the times, especially in mastering the 21st century skills needed to compete globally. Social studies as a subject at junior high school level in Indonesia plays an important role in developing these skills. This research aims to produce a social studies instructional model that is able to provide students with 21st century skills through innovative learning based on mobile games. The method used is development research with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) design model involving SMP Negeri 5 Jember as the development class, also SMP Negeri 9 Jember and SMP Negeri 12 Jember as classes implementing the learning model. The research instruments consist of class observation sheet, preliminary study questionnaire, student perception questionnaire and 21st century skills questionnaire. The obtained data are then analyzed using t-test and linear regression. The research findings are; 1) Students at state middle schools in Jember were detected as Gen-Z who likes to play mobile games and actively uses gadgets; 2) The design of mobile games-based social studies instructional model has been recognized for its feasibility in the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) and through the assessment of expert validators in the field. During the trial in the development class, there was a significant increase in the average score of 21st century skills compared to the control class and students' perceptions regarding satisfaction with the instructional model implemented are at high criteria; 3) The mobile games-based social studies instructional model is effectively used to develop 21st century skills in public junior high schools in Jember regency. This research concludes that the mobile games-based social studies instructional model was designed according to the learning needs of Gen-Z and has gone through a series of refinement processes. Thus, it is worthy of being a reference in social studies instructional activities carried out in schools.
