Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada sekolah dasar, salah satunya disebabkan oleh penggunaan model pembelajaran yang masih bersifat konvensional dan kurang interaktif. Tentunya dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, diperlukan upaya untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran problem-based learning berbantuan wordwall. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan menerapkan pembelajaran problem-based learning berbantuan wordwall pada pembelajaran matematika materi diagram gambar dan batang di kelas III SD. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen menggunakan desain Nonequivalen Control Group Design. Jumlah partisipan sebanyak 63 siswa kelas III di salah satu sekolah dasar yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Sumedang Selatan. Instrumen dan teknik pengumpulan data penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Perolehan hasil rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol setelah diberlakukannya treatment. 2) Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil rata-rata pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dengan interpretasi sedang dibanding kelas kontrol dengan interpretasi rendah. Sehingga, pembelajaran problem-based learning berbantuan wordwall berperan lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dibanding kelas kontrol. Model problem-based learning berbantuan wordwall dapat berimplikasi dalam memberikan kemudahan bagi siswa dan guru saat proses pembelajaran. Kata Kunci: Pemecahan Masalah, Problem-Based Learning, Wordwall The low mathematical problem solving ability of students in elementary school is caused by the use of learning models that are still conventional and less interactive. Of course, in overcoming these problems, efforts are needed to apply problembased learning models assisted by wordwall. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving skills by applying problem based learning assisted by wordwall in learning mathematics material for picture and bar diagrams in grade III SD. The approach taken in this research is quantitative with quasi experimental research method using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The number of participants was 63 third grade students in one of the elementary schools located in South Sumedang District. The research instruments and data collection techniques used were test questions. The results showed: 1) The average result of students' mathematical problem solving ability in the experimental class is higher than the control class after the treatment. 2) There is a difference in the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving skills between the experimental and control classes. The average results in the experimental class were higher with moderate interpretation than the control class with low interpretation. Thus, problem-based learning assisted by wordwall plays a better role in improving students' mathematical problem solving skills than the control class. The problem-based learning model assisted by wordwall can have implications in providing convenience for students and teachers during the learning process.
