    Abstract

Cashier scheduling is a complex problem in the retail company environment, aiming to produce fair schedules that consider cashiers' preferences as much as possible while complying with supermarket rules. Fulfilling these preferences can impact the cashier's service and the supermarket's image. However, sometimes the uncertainty of information and the priority order of cashier preferences lead to the fuzzy nature of this problem. This research presents a multi-objective cashier scheduling model using the fuzzy goal programming method to handle the uncertainty of target values and cashiers' preferences regarding work shifts and patterns. The fuzzy goal programming method is implemented in the cashier scheduling problem at Supermarket X in Bandung with the aim of maximizing the satisfaction level of membership functions for each fuzzy objective function, subject to supermarket rules. The cashier scheduling results obtained by formulating the fuzzy goal programming model with the help of LINGO 18.0 Unlimited software have met the supermarket rules and evenly fulfilled cashiers' preferences.
