Abstract

Software Defined Network (SDN) merupakan paradigma baru yang saat ini tengah berkembang dalam bidang jaringan yang diasumsikan dapat menjadi pembaruan dari jaringan komputer tradisional yang memiliki banyak kekurangan. Beriringan dengan berkembangnya paradigma tersebut, akan selalu ada potensi timbulnya permasalahan dalam jaringan terlebih pada arsitektur jaringan yang cukup kompleks. Maka dari itu diperlukan sistem manajemen trafik yang andal dan sistem yang memiliki skalabilitas tinggi, SDN memiliki 2 mekanisme penanganan kegagalan link yaitu proactive dan reactive. Seiring dengan perkembangan, SDN dapat diintegrasikan dengan metode intent sehingga dapat menghasilkan metode intent-based reactive forwarding. Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis dan komparasi performa dari metode reactive forwarding (FWD) dan intent-based reactive forwarding (IFWD) dalam menangani kegagalan link dan menangani beban trafik tinggi. Pengujian berdasar pada parameter Quality of Service (QoS) dalam memanajemen trafik dan recovery time yang dihasilkan ketika terjadi pemutusan link dalam proses transmisi data. Sehingga didapatkan hasil bahwa IFWD memiliki performa yang lebih andal dan stabil dibandingkan dengan FWD dalam menangani kegagalan link dan memanajemen trafik tinggi. ----- Software Defined Network (SDN) is a new paradigm currently developing in the field of networking, which is expected to be an improvement over traditional computer networks that have many shortcomings. Alongside the development of this paradigm, there will always be potential problems arising in networks, especially in complex network architectures. Therefore, a reliable traffic management system and a highly scalable system are required. SDN has two link failure handling mechanisms: proactive and reactive. As it evolves, SDN can be integrated with the intent method to produce an intent-based reactive forwarding method. This research focuses on analyzing and comparing the performance of reactive forwarding (FWD) and intent-based reactive forwarding (IFWD) methods in handling link failures and managing high traffic loads. Testing is based on Quality of Service (QoS) parameters in traffic management and the recovery time generated when a link is disrupted during data transmission. The results show that IFWD has more reliable and stable performance compared to FWD in handling link failures and managing high traffic loads.
