Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas mengenai pengaruh latihan self-talk terhadap pengelolaan kecemasan atlet sepak bola. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Desain penelitian adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel terdiri dari 14 atlet UKM Sepak Bola UPI yang dipilih dari populasi menggunakan purposive sampling dan dibagi menjadi dua kelompok sama jumlah yaitu, kelompok eksperimen mendapatkan treatment latihan self-talk, sementara kelompok kontrol menjalani latihan konvensional dan dilakukan selama 4 minggu. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket kecemasan Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 (CSAI-2) yang diberikan sebanyak dua kali (pretest dan posttest). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Uji Paired Sample t-test menunjukan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mengalami penurunan tingkat kecemasan yang signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa latihan self-talk memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap pengelolaan kecemasan pada atlet sepak bola. Penulis menyarankan agar metode latihan self-talk dimasukkan ke dalam bagian dari program latihan atlet sepak bola untuk menurunkan tingkat kecemasan atlet dan meningkatkan performa ketika bertanding. This study discusses the effect of self-talk training on the management of anxiety in soccer athletes. The method used is an experimental method with a quantitative approach. The research design is a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 14 UPI Soccer UKM athletes selected from the population using purposive sampling and divided into two equal groups, namely, the experimental group received self-talk training treatment, while the control group underwent conventional training and was carried out for 4 weeks. The instrument used in this study was the Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 (CSAI-2) anxiety questionnaire which was given twice (pretest and posttest). Data analysis was conducted using the Paired Sample T-Test, which showed that the experimental group experienced a significant decrease in anxiety levels compared to the control group. This study concludes that self-talk training has a significant impact on anxiety management in soccer athletes. The author suggests that the self-talk training method be included in a soccer athlete's training program to reduce the athlete's anxiety level and improve performance when competing.
