Abstract
Literasi geografi berperan penting agar individu dapat menganalisis dan mengambil keputusan yang terkait dengan masa depannya. Kurangnya pemahaman literasi geografi dapat menjadi ancaman serius bagi keberlangsungan kehidupan, maka dari itu harus segera diatasi. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis (1) prosesdur penggunaan media pembelajaran berbantuan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dalam pembelajaran geografi; (2) tingkat literasi geografi peserta didik sebelum perlakuan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbantuan SIG; (3) tingkat literasi geografi peserta didik setelah perlakuan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbantuan SIG; (4) pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran berbantuan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) terhadap literasi geografi peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa Quasi-Eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik analisis data berupa uji statistik parametrik untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) prosedur penggunaan media terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu kegiatan persiapan berupa input data, kegitan pelaksanaan berupa pengolahan data, kegiatan tindak lanjut berupa output data dan kegiatan evaluasi; (2) tingkat literasi geografi peserta didik sebelum perlakuan menggunakan media berbantuan SIG cenderung tergolong rendah; (3) tingkat literasi geografi peserta didik sesudah perlakuan menggunakan media SIG mengalami peningkatan; (4) penggunaan media berbantuan SIG berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan literasi geografi peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan kepada pendidik dan peneliti lainnya untuk menggunakan media pembelajaran berbantuan SIG dengan mengolah data spasial lokal di sekitar peserta didik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi geografi.
Geographic literacy plays an important role so that individuals can analyze and make decisions related to their future. Lack of understanding of geographical literacy can be a serious threat to the continuity of life, therefore it must be addressed immediately. The research objectives are to analyze (1) the process of using learning media assisted by the Geographic Information System (GIS) in geography learning; (2) students' geographic literacy level before treatment using GIS-assisted learning media; (3) students' geographic literacy level after treatment using GIS-assisted learning media; (4) the influence of using learning media assisted by the Geographic Information System (GIS) on students' geographic literacy. The research method used is a Quasi-Experiment with a quantitative approach. The data analysis technique is in the form of parametric statistical tests to test research hypotheses. The research results show that (1) The media use procedure consists of three stages, namely preparation activities in the form of data input, implementation activities in the form of data processing, follow-up activities in the form of data output and evaluation activities; (2) the level of geographical literacy of students before treatment using GIS-assisted media tends to be relatively low; (3) the level of geographical literacy of students after treatment using GIS media has increased; (4) the use of GIS-assisted media influences students' geographic literacy skills. Based on the research results, it is recommended for educators and other researchers to use GIS-assisted learning media by processing local spatial data around students to improve geographic literacy skills.
