    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan-permasalahan yang ada selama pembelajaran meringkas teks eksplanasi yang dilaksanakan di kelas VII B SMP Negeri 1 Lembang. Tujuannya adalah untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran tersebut. Cara pengumpulan data adalah observasi, angket, wawancara dan tugas proyek. Data yang diperoleh ini bersumber dari observasi awal, wawancara, angket dan karya siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya meningkatkan kemampuan meringkas teks eksplanasi melalui pembelajaran kooperatif model student teams achievement division berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan meringkas teks eksplanasi siswa dalam dua siklus. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata siswa adalah 78,68 dan pada siklus II nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 84,48 dengan siswa yang berhasil mencapai KKM sekolah sebanyak 92,68%. Ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa sudah mampu meringkas teks eksplanasi dengan baik. This research is motivated by the problems that exist for explanatory text summarizing the learning undertaken in class VII B SMP Negeri 1 Lembang. The goal is to improve the learning process. Method of data collection are observation, questionnaires, interviews and project assignments. The data obtained is derived from the initial observation, interviews, questionnaires and student work. The results suggest that efforts to improve the ability of explanatory text summarizing through cooperative learning model of student teams achievement division has been successfully implemented in two cycles. This is evidenced by the increase in average student scores. In the first cycle, students 'average score was 78.68 and the second cycle students' average score increased to 84.48 with the students who made it to the school as much as 92.68% KKM. It shows that most of the students are able to summarize the explanatory text well.
