Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of family, school, and community environments on children who drop out of school in Kebonwaru Village. A quantitative approach using questionnaires via Google Forms and in-depth qualitative interviews were employed in this research. The results show several factors influencing children's decision to drop out of school. From the family environment, contributing factors include poor economic conditions, low parental education levels, lack of parental attention to children's education, and poor parental health. In the school environment, causes include inadequate facilities, poor communication between teachers and students, and issues with peers. Meanwhile, from the community environment, influential factors are a lack of support for education, negative perceptions of the value of higher education due to graduates struggling to find jobs, and the community's preference for work over education. Internal factors within the children, such as laziness, trauma from bullying experiences, and incidents of married by accident, also contribute. This study demonstrates the influence of social environment on school dropouts in Kelurahan Kebonwaru at 26.2%, with the hypothesis H₁ accepted and H₀ rejected.
