Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa sekolah dasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas penerapan metode show and tell berbantuan media power point pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV dan untuk mengetahui hasil bagaimana penerapan metode show and tell berbantuan media power point pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV. Metode yang digunakan adalah PTK dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV A SD Negeri 2 Cilandak sebanyak 33 siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah Model kemmis dan Mc.Taggart yang terdiri dari perencanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama 2 siklus dengan satu prasiklus. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes. Hasil menunjukan bahwa penerapan metode show and tell berbantuan media power point dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV A SD Neger 2 Cilandak. Pada pra siklus tahap pembelajaran kurang efektif karena menggunakan cara metode konvensional. Pada siklus I siswa masih beradaptasi dengan penerapan metode show and tell berbantuan media power point sehingga pembelajaran yang dilakukan belum terlalu efektif, siswa masih kurang interaktif walaupun siswa mulai tertari dengan media yang digunakan. Pada siklus II, siswa telah beradaptasi dengan metode show and tell di bantu dengan media pembelajaran power point, sehingga pembelajaran yang dilakukan menjadi lebih interaktif dan keterampilan berbicara siswa meningkat. Hasil rata-rata menunjukan bahwa pada siklus I, nilai observasi siswa sebesar 69% dan observasi guru sebesar 95%, sedangkan pada siklus II nilai observasi siswa dan guru masing-masing mencapai 100%, menunjukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pada aktivitas siswa 31% dan aktivitas guru meningkat 5%. Pada keterampilan berbicara nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat yaitu pada siklus I 75 meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 85 menunjukan peningkatan 10 poin. ----- This research was motivated by the low speaking skills of elementary school students. The aim of this research is to determine the activities of applying the show and tell method assisted by power point media in Indonesian language subjects to improve fourth grade students' speaking skills and to find out the results of how to apply the show and tell method assisted by power point media in Indonesian language subjects to improve speaking skills of fourth grade students. The method used was PTK with research subjects of class IV A students at SD Negeri 2 Cilandak as many as 33 students. The design used is the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model which consists of action planning, observation and reflection. This research lasted for 2 cycles with one pre-cycle. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews and tests. The results show that the application of the show and tell method assisted by power point media can improve the speaking skills of class IV A students at SD Negeri 2 Cilandak. In the pre-cycle learning phase it is less effective because it uses conventional methods. In cycle I, students were still adapting to the application of the show and tell method with the help of power point media so that the learning carried out was not very effective, students were still less interactive even though students were starting to be interested in the media used. In cycle II, students have adapted to the show and tell method assisted by power point learning media, so that the learning becomes more interactive and students' speaking skills improve. The average results show that in cycle I, the student observation score was 69% and teacher observation was 95%, while in cycle II the student and teacher observation scores each reached 100%, indicating that there was an increase in student activity of 31% and teachers increased by 5%. In speaking skills, the students' average score increased, namely in cycle I it was 75, it increased in cycle II to 85, showing an increase of 10 points.
