Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan dalam penggunaan jaringan internet perlu diimbangi dengan kesiapan kapabilitas infrastruktur jaringan dan server dalam menyediakan serta menyeimbangkan kelangsungan konektifitas dari jaringan internet tersebut. Agar kinerja jaringan internet dapat dioptimalkan, maka perlu dirancang sebuah metode yang mampu mengatasi timbulnya permasalahan seperti bandwidth low, overload dan koneksi yang lambat bahkan kendala server down. Solusinya yaitu perlu adanya manajemen bandwidth untuk mengoptimalkan jaringan internet dengan menggunakan metode dari load balancing. Namun, pada penelitian ini peneliti membandingkan metode Equal Cost Multi Path (ECMP) dan Per Connection Classifier (PCC) untuk mencari metode mana yang paling optimal. Metode pengembangan sistem yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu NDLC (Network Development Life Cycle) sebagai acuan dalam proses pengembangan dan perancangan sistem jaringan komputer. Analisis pada penelitian ini menggunakan empat parameter Quality of Service (QoS) berdasarkan standar TIPHON yaitu throughput, delay, jitter dan packet loss. Hasil pengujian parameter QoS menunjukan bahwa metode PCC lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan metode ECMP dilihat dari hasil rata-rata throughput sebesar 2368 Kbps, Packet Loss 0,17%, delay 3,36 ms dan jitter 3,37 ms. Metode PCC juga menghasilkan bandwidth yang lebih optimal dengan hasil upload sebesar 94,78 Mbps dan download sebesar 92,80 Mbps. Dari hasil pengujian QoS pada metode PCC, diperoleh nilai rata-rata parameter sebesar “3,5” yang termasuk dalam kategori index “Memuaskan” sesuai standar TIPHON. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi lembaga lain untuk mengoptimalkan jaringan internet. ----- The rapid development in the use of internet networks needs to be balanced with the readiness of network and server infrastructure capabilities to provide and balance the continuity of connectivity of the internet network. So that internet network performance can be optimized, it is necessary to design a method that is able to overcome problems such as low bandwidth, overload and slow connections and even server down problems. The solution is the need for bandwidth management to optimize the internet network using load balancing methods. However, in this study the researchers compared the Equal Cost Multi Path (ECMP) and Per Connection Classifier (PCC) methods to find which method was the most optimal. The system development method used in this research is NDLC (Network Development Life Cycle) as a reference in the development process and computer network system design. The analysis in this research uses four Quality of Service (QoS) parameters based on the TIPHON standard, namely throughput, delay, jitter and packet loss. The QoS parameter test results show that the PCC method is superior to the ECMP method, seen from the results of an average throughput of 2368 Kbps, Packet Loss of 0.17%, delay of 3.36 ms and jitter of 3.37 ms. The PCC method also produces more optimal bandwidth with upload results of 94.78 Mbps and downloads of 92.80 Mbps. From the results of QoS testing using the PCC method, an average parameter value of "3.5" was obtained, which is included in the "Satisfactory" index category according to TIPHON standards. It is hoped that this research can become a recommendation for other institutions to optimize internet networks.
