Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya hambatan belajar (learning obstacle) pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia tentang mendengarkan penjelasan petunjuk denah di kelas IV SD. Siswa kurang dapat membedakan arah mata angin sehingga kurang tepat pula saat menjelaskan urutan perjalanan dalam denah dan membuat gambar/denah berdasarkan penjelasan. Hambatan belajar (learning obstacle) tersebut muncul salah satunya karena kurangnya perhatian guru dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran. Padahal, media pembelajaran berperan penting dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi hambatan belajar (learning obstacle) yang dialami siswa dengan mengembangkan penggunaan media visual dalam proses pembelajaran. Sehingga, penggunaan media visual yang dikembangkan mengacu pada hambatan belajar (learning obstacle) yang dialami siswa pada pembelajaran mendengarkan penjelasan petunjuk denah. Selain menyiapkan media, disiapkan juga Hypotethycal Learning Trajectory (HLT) beserta Antisipasi Didaktis Pedagogis (ADP) guna mengatasi respons siswa yang muncul saat pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Didactical Design Research (DDR) dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Jumlah siswa yang menjadi sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah 91 orang siswa kelas IV dan 2 orang guru kelas IV. Dua SD menjadi subjek untuk melakukan studi pendahuluan, satu SD dijadikan subjek implementasi desain didaktis, dan satu SD dijadikan sebagai subjek implementasi desain didaktis revisi. Media digunakan oleh siswa pada saat kegiatan diskusi untuk menjelaskan urutan perjalanan dalam denah dan membuat gambar/denah berdasarkan penjelasan. Pemahaman siswa setelah mendapat desain didaktis ini mengalami peningkatan, dan hambatan belajar (learning obstacle) yang dialami siswa pun berkurang. Hasil penelitian ini adalah berupa buku tentang media visual denah yang dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu cara untuk mengurangi hambatan belajar (learning obstacle) pada pembelajaran mendengarkan penjelasan petunjuk denah. Media visual tersebut dibuat berdasarkan teori rasional penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran, teori Piaget, dan fungsi media visual. Kata Kunci : desain didaktis, hambatan belajar (learning obstacle), mendengarkan penjelasan petunjuk denah, media visual. This research was motivated by the existence of learning obstacle in Indonesian subjects especially in 4th grade students’ skill of listening to the instructions on the plan. Students were not able to distinguish the compass point so it caused the students were not able to explain the trip orderly and to make drawings / plans based on explanation. Learning obstacle arose because of the lack of teachers’ attention in instructional media use. Whereas, instructional media had an important role in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to reduce learning obstacle by developing the use of visual media in the learning process. Thus, the use of visual media that was developed referred to learning obstacle experienced by students in the learning of listening to instructions skill. The researcher did not only prepare learning media but also prepared Hypotethycal Learning Trajectory (HLT) and Pedagogical Dictatic Anticipation (ADP) to anticipate students’ responses when they learnt. This study used didactical Design Research (DDR) with a qualitative approach. The number of students was the sources of the data in this study were 91 of fourth grade students and 2 of fourth grade teachers. Two elementary schools became subject to conduct a preliminary study. One of the subjects became the subject of the implementation of the didactic design, and another became the subject of the implementation of the revision didactic design. The media was used by students during having discussion to explain the sequence of the sketch and to make drawings/plans based explanation. After receiving the didactic design, Students' understanding had increased, and the learning obstacle experienced by students was reduced. The results of this study were a book about visual media plan that could be used as one way to reduce learning obstacle in listening to the instructions skill. The visual media were made based on the theory of rational media use in learning, Piaget's theory, and the function of the visual media.
